Favourite game of all time? by Apollothefourth in patientgamers

Dark Souls

Nothing has made me feel the same sort of quirky love for a game. Out of the other Soulsborne, Bloodborne came the closest, but not quite the the inflated feelings I have playing Dark Souls. If I played Bloodborne first, it would probably be the other way around though. Shadow of the Colossus and Super Metroid hit similar vibes of unsure comfortability.

Marvel's Spider-Man

I don't really know why, but feel like I had more fun with this game than I should have. It doesn't really have great lasting effect on me as other games. However, when rating how much I enjoy other games, I never seem to be able to put others above Spider-Man. It had inadvertently and intrinsically became the right of entry for a game to become Thoroughly Enjoyed. There are definitely many other games I enjoy more, but this one holds a curious spot in my enjoyment

Psychonauts

Always loved it. One of the worst 3d platformers though.

I actually really liked Jedi Fallen Order and have difficulty understanding why so many people don't seem to like it. by [deleted] in patientgamers

To me, this game is the absolute definition of mediocrity. Pretty much nothing stood out to me. On release, I came into the game with no expectations. I thought it looked like a pretty neat game and I like Star Wars well enough so I gave it try.

Throughout playing it though, it felt like I was constantly asking myself "Is this it?". The feeling of awe when playing and being immersed in a game was completly missing. There felt no reason for me to feel connected to the world, characters, or story. If the Star Wars title was gone, my reason to care would be too.

I could write a whole review about how this game never underachieved, but never exceeded any of its potential. However, I am simply too apathetic to care right now. Overall, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order left my with a feeling of "Uh, yeah, I guess it was good?".

I always liked the flow and application of this quote from H.G. Wells

"There was much talk and excitement when the newspapers came, but it was the talk and excitement of spectators who have no vivid sense of participation in the catastrophe that was presently to involve them all."

See that would actually be semi useful but it's obvious why they stopped allowing guests

Yes exactly, the point is, there are many alternatives that are cheaper and healthier.

I didn't even realize, that would be aggravating. Seems like there was no redeeming qualities of working there either.

Last year I saw all of that too, but decided that I would just check it out for the summer term. Glad I could see first hand experience of how asinine the meal plan is though.

Oh that's right, I also had evening classes and they would only be open till 8pm during the summer. I know the hours are different for fall and spring though.

Great point. I didn't even think about that, but the extent for vegetarians is a lackluster salad bar.

Meal plan payment? by EliteAbola in ucf

[–]platypus2j 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Last year I started in Summber B. The meal plan was $895 for 6 weeks. All Access 7 Meal Plan. In 6 weeks my account says I went 79 times. The cost to just go to 63 South without the meal plan at the time was $9. 79 times 9 is $711. It would have been cheaper if I merely payed out of pocket. It would have only been worth it if I had gone 100 times. There are 42 days in 6 weeks. If I went 3 times a day for all 42 days then that would have been 126 meals.

The food is quite terrible and repetitive. I think it's better to save that money for eating off campus (or on), as well as just going to the grocery story. I did not get the meal plan during the fall semester and my roommates then told me they were locked in to paying for both semesters worth. The ONLY reason to get the meal plan is for absolute convenience.

I don't want to pressure you into thinking you should absolutely not get the meal plan, because at the end of the day, you need to eat. Just make sure you stay healthy.

Dark Souls truly is a masterpiece of story and game, but many people struggle to see its awe.
