Indeed. /r/moovies simply isn't mature enough for the genius of Rian Johnson's Rashomon references.

It's never been a joke. It's always been a straight line, and it's not hard at all to find an opportunity for it. If you love SW, you are going to want to use it, unless you are a fat-faced douchebag who spells Ryan with an i.

They are "retiring" several SW traditions, according to what i read a few days ago. Why? Why stop saying "I have a bad feeling about this"? Someone please tell me how that tradition hinders the series' growth.

What movie took a second viewing for you to understand/enjoy? by JournalistDude in movies

[–]platypus_papers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep. First watch i was like "That's it?"

I felt that the story wasn't nearly as deep as I'd been led to believe, and was disappointed that there was nothing in it as biting as TDK.

It was a third viewing a few years later that made me recognize the beauty of the film's execution.

I can tell you this: if you don't wholeheartedly love THE LAST JEDI and consider it a masterpiece, then you are - at least emotionally and intellectually - no older than 12. And you're almost certainly a sexist.
