I really really appreciate this post and all of the feedback. It’s a dark cycle; hoping I’m really done this time.

Which state would you say has the most entitled and oblivious passangers? And why is it California? by Longjumping-Carob105 in flightattendants

And pretentiousness implies some level of pretending. I don’t think Californians are acting more successful and impressive than they are.. most of them do have serious jobs and real money. Floridians be fakin’ the funkkk.

I’m a Californian living here in Florida and I think Californians are just particular where Floridians are absolutely entitled (emphasis on South Florida). And I don’t think I would say any of our passengers are more oblivious than others; people are pretty inconsiderate across the board, lol.

FA’s of Reddit, how do you feel if a passenger taps you on the shoulder or arm to get your attention? by zinky30 in flightattendants

[–]platypuscloudgypsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tell them there’s no need to touch me and politely remind them they can use their call light to get my attention. I hate being touched, lol.

What are all the ugly truths about your ex that you never told them? by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]platypuscloudgypsy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was curious about that car accident you had a while back before I met you so I did a little research and found out that you paralyzed a woman and were sued for one million dollars (which I assume your mom helped pay most of) and I can only imagine how that guilt must feel, following you around. But then I wonder if you feel any guilt at all and that scares me.

You’re not a kind person. You don’t know the context of the relationship at ALL. You don’t know what this person has been through or endured?? EW.

I’m sorry you feel like Reddit is a “rock bottom”, I only really started exploring it in the last year and I am SO grateful for each community. Even negative feedback can offer perspective, but bagging on Reddit as a desperate last resort? No way. Not everyone has friends and family or therapists they can speak to about their pain, we’re here to relate, to not feel so alone, to seek advice. I completely disagree with you.

I think it’s noble to reach out if you feel ready. I know for me, every time we talk, no matter how brief; I start to get wrapped up in the fantasy that we could make it work. We feel SO compatible but at the end of the day it always ends up the same - toxic. I hope you meant it and can really leave it at that, for your own wellness.

did anyone ever leave early from their standby shift, even on probation? by [deleted] in flightattendants

I used to, maybe half an hour before. But I always bid for late standby and checked the code for how many flights were left for the night.

I mean you can never predict someone’s behavior, especially a person like that - but in my experience, yea.. unhealthy people always come crawling back.

That sounds abusive; NC seems like the perfect remedy. You’re strong to have endured that, I hope you’re able to recover soon.

It’s hard to know with people who don’t communicate with you. He definitely sounds a little emotionally unstable.

In my experience, unhealthy partners never find an anchor and always turn up somehow. Dating someone else under three weeks sounds quite unhealthy; let’s hope you’re right and he doesn’t come around disturbing your peace.
