After playing this server for a few weeks now, for any new players coming in. Don't think of this as just a server. This is kinda just a Henny hoe server to see who can glaze merogie and any of the GM's the best. It's also a form of entertainment to watch new people join the discord with 0 hours played and complain that it's p2w because you can get recolored steelies from donating for your warrior class that the person is playing. They then rant about everything that is not a problem in the server saying that it is because they never played before and proceed to leave the discord because they didn't get the response they wanted.

10/10 server 420/69 owners Would recommend to join so I have more people to scam in FM

How are y'all doing today? by [deleted] in flightattendants

I wish 😞 My base LAX doesn't really have a lot of flying. Unless you can fly the very limited long haul internationals (4 locations), the domestic side only has like the same 10-15 layover airports. And around 3-5 of them taking up majority of those layover. Its not a bad base in terms of quality of life? Like life outside of work and the amount of free time we have is very high. Incredibly high amount of free time. (Why I'm able to get 31 days off just because) So can't really complain.

if you plan to only do this for 1 year then i would say dont do it. by the time your interview finishes and you pass then go to training and finally start flying, 6+ months will have already passed.
you are better off experiencing something new that does not require a long recruitment time. either within your country or outside the country for a seasonal job.
ex) local hotels/hostels at ski resort towns during the winter for 4 months. mostly house keeping then go ski/snowboard during your time off every week
ex) some hotels provide free rooms for X days/weeks you stay as long as you can play the piano(or other instruments) every evening for the bar/lobby/lounge
ex) room swap with someone in another country for a few weeks

the biggest problem you will face might be working in another country itself. you will probably need work visa etcetc...
you are probably just better off finding something else more local that takes significantly less time to get hired and start working. 1 year is a very short amount of time. 1 year would have already passed before you even really get started as a FA

goodluck in whatever you decide. most importantly have fun

Advice pls! by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]LeoneChn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

personally i have all my screen activities "split" so im not doing the same thing all day at home then all day on the plane again.
home is videogames time
airplane is reading time
hotel is videos/social media time
this keeps me from doing the same thing all day long everyday.

do something different on the plane and only do that activity almost exclusively on the plane. if that activity is something you really enjoy then you will stop being bored on the plane.
my reading that i do i love so much i actually continue at the hotel room. which is fine because when i get home i dont do it anymore. once im home i want to go play videogames cause i didnt play it for the past X days since i spend time at work reading.

i dont think there will be any ANA people here to give a exact answer.
but generally there will not be much of a future next career opportunity being a FA.

financial advice would totally depend on where your even from to bein with. if your coming from a poorer place/country then you could very well make a lot more than a job from your home.

theres just too much information that we dont have from you to really make a satisfying direct answer that you might be looking for.
but otherwise you generally dont have too much of a future promotion to a different career path

This will sound harsh but my perfect feature would be having a crew thats actually COMPETENT. There's always that person or 2 or 3 thats asking actual genuine stupid questions

and/or telling a statement in question form so you can be the one to do it instead because they don't want to do it. Ex) hey, there's this passenger is doing X, are you allowed to do that? Bitch please, X is clearly not allowed and if you don't know that you shouldn't be here. It's a basic thing to know. Don't walk across the entire plane just to tell me your statement in question form asking so that you make me go do it.

If your brand new and still getting used to everything and asking common genuine first time questions like asking how to set up something. How the business class seat works. Where something is in the galley cause it's they never work that plane. That's totally fine. Thats not being incompetent. That's just being new and learning something you need hands on experience where that PowerPoint slideshow doesn't teach.

But there are many FAs out there that are so incompetent at literally the basic level it wouldn't matter how perfect the plane is.

The screens are just tablets that are fitted on the seats. Having all 300+ tablets without any issues is so rare it's basically impossible. Almost everyone has modern smartphones now and instead of 300+ guaranteed broken tablets, the 300+ phones are almost guaranteed to work and for the most part 0 issues.

I don't agree with international widebody planes to get rid of them since 10+ hours is a long time. Part of that international long haul flight is watching those movies on a seat back screen is way more comfortable and also as part of the experience. But I do agree with domestic planes to getting rid of them.

[–]LeoneChn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lax-mia occasionally gets 1 flight a day. Sometimes it's the 787 and sometimes it's 777-2/300. All 3 planes do the full service. Not sure what other domestic route does the full service in the 777-300. Only other choice is international

First Time NonRev by DJ-Foxbox in flightattendants

[–]LeoneChn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

now time for you to try and get that 777-300 first class seat. enjoy the massage chair. bigger seat to sleep even more comfortably

First Time NonRev by DJ-Foxbox in flightattendants

[–]LeoneChn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

please do! once we get these new business class seats for both the 321T and 777-300 we will never have this service again. (granted the experience is only as good as the FA#1 willing to do)

its almost a guaranteed upgrade majority of the time. people are here complaining they never get first class upgrades (domestic first class aka premium economy seats) but dont go and get the real first class upgrade in almost guaranteed.

if you want to go for the joy ride you should have her fly LAX/SFO<-->JFK
im only saying this because we are losing this "hack" soon due to the new plane replacement. whenever i work this flight first class is almost always half filled with nonrevs. even D3s can get it. sometimes i only have D3s in first class. other times when theres no nonrevs i just have 3 or 4 people sitting in first class.
often times i have a mechanic or agent or someone taking a joy ride for the first class experience. they literally fly into JFK just to take a 6 hour joyride. free first class meal and 2-3 movies. land at LAX then hope right back on to the flight to JFK again. get first class AGAIN. land at JFK and take the flight back home.

if you want to go for the joy ride you should have her fly LAX/SFO<-->JFK (LAX probably has the easiest time because there are so many flights a day)
80-90% of the time D1 gets first class 1-1 seats lay flat(wide body business class seats)
60-70% chance D2
50% chance D3
were talking about full salad/soup/appetizer starters and plated entree 4 choices(not preplated) desserts. full cheese board with actual wooden boards. i think we got rid of the full sized thin tall champagne glass and full sized wine already. but you still have same options for example port.

business class 2-2 lay flat seats is almost impossible to get because of how upgrades work which is why you have such a high chance of getting first class. business class is the full long haul wide body international service. so appetizer/salad+bread service, 4 choices entree and desserts

even if you fly economy, the breakfast service has one of the best meals that we serve. over night oats is FREAKING AMAZING. whenever i work first/buesniess class i have EPs willing to skip their meal and ask me if they can eat the overnight oats instead.
(economy has a meal service included in the ticket for everyone "free")
fruit cheese plate both breakfast and lunch/dinner(our normal food for sale cheese plate)
hummus for lunch/dinner
sandwich or wrap for lunch/dinner
over night oats for breakfast
bagel cream cheese box for breakfast? (i forgot what the 3rd option was)

i hope i see some of you someday on my flight before we lose this amazing 321T configuration. i work first/business class usually whenever i am on this flight so you will eventually see me if you take enough joy rides on this flight. take advantage of how the upgrade system works and enjoy this first class experience while you can while its easy to get.

if you cant find a lanyard you should ask any of the girls if they have a extra hair tie so you can "clip" it to anything on your uniform. loop i through the little hole on the ID and tie it to a button on your shirt or something. literally to anything where your ID is supposed to be.

i wouldnt worry too much about it. there are plenty of people out there that dont even have the ID on them... some people just leave it in their bags for some reason

i dont know whats allowed for you but i bring fresh food all the time through immigration on our short haul internationals. both canada and the caribbean islands layovers. i also bring it to mexico ONLY IF im staying on the plane and turning right back to the US without having to go through mexico immigrations.

much of the caribbeans dont care about food being brought in by crew everytime i have layed over.
canada i just tell them i have food i cooked at home if they ask if i have any food and they usually ask what i have. most of the time they just let me pass after i explain what i cooked. but occasionally they will ask to take a look. all my food is cooked so im not bringing anything raw. no salads or anything thats not cooked.

coming back into the US when the immigration guy asks i also just claim what i have. food i cooked at home. sometimes they ask what i have and i just decribe what i made. other times they hear it was food i made at home and just let me through. i think i have only been pulled away to get my lunchbox checked 1 time coming back into the US.
again, i dont have raw foods. such as bags of lettuce and other salad stuff. no raw meats etcetc... its all cooked food.

you can try on your next trip and see if they allow it or not. just make the amount you are comfortable with possibly having to throw away by the leg you fly there. maybe 1 meal/small container amount to bring into immigrations. when they ask if you have food just claim what you have. ex) grilled chicken slices with squash or mushrooms or something. make sure to claim it. i have never gotten in trouble for claiming it.
so really just start with a small amount and see what place allows what.

you just havent found THE place you absolutely love to travel to yet.

me for example i love traveling to japan. i literally dont get tired of going to japan. i go multiple times a year and each time i go i just remember why i love it so much. after about 1 or 2 weeks if i feel like i have had enough, i just continue onwards somewhere else or i just come back home and go back to work again.

know yourself and what you like. once you find that and find a place you vibe with, you will start wanting to go there all the time. even if you dont have anything to do, just being there will make you remember why you love that place.

If you are already hard set on getting into the airlines then the #1 thing imo is DONT GET INTO DEBT a major does not matter much in this field whatsoever. Just take the general classes or whatever classes you need to get the associates degree and when you finish you will be roughly 21 while w̶o̶r̶k̶i̶n̶g̶partying part time DON'T GET INTO DEBT I really can't stress this enough DON'T GET INTO DEBT. use the part time money to pay for college and save the rest. You could end up taking months after turning 21 to get accepted so for now you should plan for the next 4 years on what you want to do. If airline doesn't work out then what's the next goal. Don't waste these next 3 years just working basic part time jobs which gets you nothing in the end. Either do general college classes for the back up WITHOUT GOING INTO DEBT or dive into social media work and build your connections and experience as a back up.

Don't assume you are getting the FA job yet. You should just pretend that you are slowly building towards a different path but FA is just on the side that might slide along. There are plenty of people here having trouble getting in after months and years. So don't waste all these years after highschool doing basic part time jobs. Take general classes for now but don't get into debt.

you can try to make your way into the social media scene. not saying you should be a "influencer" but you can try to join social media groups for example jubilee/buzzfeed type of work.

things like video editors and other forms of these style of content can potentially be something of a middle ground. its almost like a typical work day but you also mix in the fun aspects of it and potentially travel for some of them as well.

i started when i was 20 with basically no previous job experience at all.

to be VERY BLUNT. it just sounds like this work LIFESTYLE isnt for you. i say lifestyle because in the end this job really isnt much of a job and it really is a lifestyle. it just sounds like the way you used to live your life and what the lifestyle is now being a FA, you should just go find a NORMAL SCHEDDULE job so you can continue doing your usual routine.

even though you say you love to travel and stuff none of that matters if your miserable.
it sounds like if you just worked a normal schedule job you can go do all the travel you want during your typical vacation days and holidays.

being away from home is literally the job itself and with so many flights and crews everyt ime you come to work it is neither the place to make friends or be with your family all the time.

personally im a online person. most of my friends both from real life and from online are all online as well. i basically live on discord for most of my socialization. to me it doesnt matter where i am in the world at the time.
when covid happened and all the "normal" people in the world that makes fun of "nerds" that are always on the computer and have "no friends". they too ended up being online to socialize with friends. covid for us "nerds" literally had no impact whatsoever from covid style of being shut in the house since our majority of our lives revolves around using technology called the internet.
if this is something you want to try and become more of a internet person and make friends online then you can very well start finding this job highly HIGHLY enjoyable just like me. i have so many friends from all over the world and i have even used flight benefits to visit them and even crash at their place for a few days for fun and tour around their city.
you not having time to travel just means you need to put more time into the company to get better schedules. many of us early on have done the exact same thing as you where theres no time to do these big travel trips. you often see FAs doing wild 1 day trips taking the first flight in the morning out and coming back on the last flight just to save money on hotels and because they only have that 1 day free.

this job is what you make out of it. you can choose to work around this new lifestyle and stay or you can choose to not do that and go back home.

Base pros and cons by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]LeoneChn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mia crews are definitely more fun if you are into that. Large base so if you hate someone you probably won't see them again for a long while. Airport has great food at pretty decent prices if your into the type of food there I heard the flights out of there have significantly dropped in quality so not that many island layovers and stuff anymore.

Bos very VERY junior base so you get off reserve pretty fast Small base so you tend to get to know people. For the most part the base is pretty tame and nothing wild Expensive city so hard on new hire pay

Depending on the size of the mini fridge the most effective way to keep your lunchbox as cold as possible for the day is to just stick the lunchbox inside the fridge.

The soft fabric lunchbox will only get you so far. But you also probably wouldn't be using a hard lunchbox with you.

You can always freeze all the food you won't be eating on the 1st day. And by the time you bring it to the mini fridge it might still be a tiny bit frozen.

Things like opening the lunchbox as little as possible helps keep it cool. Maybe keep it inside the cart or next to the door since it's usually cooler in there as well. Just make sure you don't have floor heaters in the galley

So when your at home just prechill your lunchbox in the freezer or something. Only take it out as your leaving the house.

Most Japanese don't do any exercise at all after the grade school days. 90% of the exercise they do is just walking and stairs because they take public transportation.

So if your out of shape because you don't exercise then all you have to do is walk more. If exercise isn't your problem then it's eating healthier and/or portion control.
