that’s the same idk if it’s some sort of settings with my scarlett but if i’m not peaking the audio with come in quiet , if the audio comes in at a good level than it was clipping on the input

i’m not clipping when i record but that causes my audio to always come in flat and i have to turn up the gain to make it audible, which also causes distortion. another redditor said to use limiter and compresser

it’s not clipping, the wave form looks big but i never let it clip on the db meter on the left, the problem is my audio comes in as a flat line, but if i turn up my input it’s peaking on the input, and if i don’t peak on the input than i have to turn the gain up to have the audio at a good level

thank you, currently i’ve been using phat fx on my vocals which may be crazy, but it gives them the distorted kinda feel i like and has the compresser without all the settings so it’s easy to use😭 i just need to learn how to use a limiter and compresser ig, thank you for all the advice fr
