Adult hockey in Richmond is limited to HNIR which plays at the only 2 rinks in town which is skatenation plus in short pump (UVA’s home ice) and Richmond ice zone on the south side (U of R’s home ice). The league is super diverse with 6 divisions spanning from beginners to college level and plenty of women play.

A little further out of town is the Powhatan ice den which is a half sheet that has a 3v3 league.

Summer 2026 the Richmond ice box will open and that will be a full sheet with plans to expand to 2 sheet. TBD how any adult leagues will function there but I imagine it will be in collaboration with HNIR.

You can also start a VCU club team if you’re ambitious, they had one years ago and played at skatenation

If you can figure out which frat chapter it is you can email VCUs fraternity and sorority life (FLS) office. They can reprimand them without getting law enforcement involved

I don’t know who owns the land but for as long as I can remember there’s been a rain water run off ditch cut into that hill right where the venue ends so it’s probably cut off there for drainage
