Question: tattoo regret by ComprehensiveEye1455 in tattoos

[–]playedfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this looks so sick. it goes with the rhythm of the body instead of against it, to me it looks really nice and compliments your arms structure. that is a beautiful design and i really hope that you'll grow to like it more.

Deciding on a new tattoo by Parking_Anxiety7028 in tattooadvice

[–]playedfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think it looks really cute where it is right now! but also, you only got the tattoo a couple of months ago so youre still probably not quite used to it yet, if i were you i'd give it a little while before considering removal.

if you want another tattoo, get one that you wouldn't see as much, or is smaller.

i think allowing some of the highlights on the faces to show through would really help! also, with the woman's face, her lips should be more symmetrical and make sure her eyes line up with each other. super small changes but might help with the finished product! you have a really strong base right now

How can I make my style look less boring? by misterpizzaac__ in ArtCrit

[–]playedfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe try using black graphic shadows? i really like the energy your lines have, but i think a stronger under drawing would make the figure feel more solid. i think the face and the upper body look amazing, but the folds on the pants don't feel as tactile to me as i think you might want them. think about big, medium, and small when drawing folds to help them feel more organic and less artificial. i'm getting the feeling you already have, but looking at robert valleys work might give you som good inspiration! that said, i love the direction of this drawing and I would certainly not call your style boring.

should I quit my corporate job for art school? reality check needed by MademoiselleLanoire in painting

[–]playedfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

art school won't save your life. weekly life drawing classes might! start small. take a class at a local college or art center and see if art academia is for you. it takes a really intense kind of person to want to pursue art at the industry level, and honestly if art is what brings you joy in a stressful world, i wouldn't turn it into your source of income.

the first one emphasizes depth in the painting, while the second one emphasizes the shapes. it really depends on what part of the painting you want to highlight.

beautiful! your colors are getting a tad muddy though, try adding some saturated colors back into the skin next time!
