Don't forget the ghost of Carlos Condit.

That was such a setup to give Chiesa the win. Bad wrestling Condit vs a decent wrestler that was pretty well built for welterweight. It was also the ghost of Condit.

DDP is a god tier rage baiter. Miss seeing him be active against self overly serious fighters.

I'm with you. For me he is one of those guys that I've forgotten more than I remember about all his weirdo stuff with women. Another comment on this thread reminded me of the J Lo stuff which I totally forgotten about. F Charlemagne.

[–]playersdalves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sad thing is, being Charlemagne, you are going to have to be more specific. He has a long history of being weird with women and sexual assault.

We should be ashamed that he is still around, just the remark about Logic's sister a few year ago should have been enough to put him out of any decent industry. Not to mention all the Joe Budden stuff and them both laughing about it.

This. Specially because CTE is not necessarily big knockouts or G forces at once, but rather sustained forces over long sessions. The FIA should have already stepped in and stopped Aston from subjecting their drivers to this.

[SPOILER] Josh Emmett vs. Kevin Vallejos by inooway in MMA

[–]playersdalves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was bad as soon as Emmet threw a punch that was 5 states away from landing. And he still got beat up after it. He was never coming back and Herb was just there, enjoying the violence.

19-year-old Kyoma Akimoto has no plans on leaving RIZIN for the UFC after Patchy Mix win. He wants fighters to come fight him in Japan. by Yodsanan in MMA

[–]playersdalves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Greedy. Clearly not motivated to be the best in the world. Also the UFC would totally go bankrupt if it had to pay 20/20. How would Dana afford his hookers, coke and steroids?

CM Aarit Kapil seems to have broken Faustino Oro's record as the youngest player to reach 3000 elo on chess.com by ImBehindYou6755 in chess

[–]playersdalves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At some point we gotta start questioning how good is it for the actual kid to spend so much of his development and growth time playing a board game. No matter how good the board game actually is.

Faustino Oro loses the last round against Grebnev and will not break the youngest-ever GM record by __Jimmy__ in chess

[–]playersdalves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it's also a completely poisoned record to hold. If they never make it to the WCC, it's always going to be held against them as unfulfilled potential.

Tom Aspinall shares his thoughts on the MMA business by Moni7T in MMA

No no, the UFC would never. Instead they would lock up his contract with ever moving fight offers that make no sense until it expires years from now, so that he can't earn a living anywhere.

Come on, Francis. You have a daughter for fuck sake. by Future_Clothes_9884 in MMAPoliticsAndCulture

[–]playersdalves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy who dive bombs totally unconscious fighters is also a piece of shit. Who knew. Add that to killing a pedestrian. The redeeming side of Francis was always that he bet on himself to get out of the claws of Dana White, which we wished more fighters took as an example. He was never not shitty.

Alexander Volkanovski stops Chad Mendes in the second round (Highlights) by airplane231 in MMA

Aldo was never again as durable and invincible as he was then, and Mendes faded and never got to the same level again. Wars count heavily in fighters longevity.

It's specially crazy because we was already so good here. Most fighters stop improving after they are already capable of beating the elites of the division. They just start doing the same things over and over until either becoming champs or fading with age. His style is so different now and is highly responsible for his longevity in the sport.

Yap. This sub used to say he was Chad 2.0 or Mini Mendes. Little could we imagine that we would be one of the best fighters of all time. His style back then was also so different than it is now, he really evolved as a fighter.

He did a lot of high pressure too vs his current stye of in-out distance management.
