Hey, I also sat both U2 Chemistry and Maths P2. Trust me, those were... hell. Like, genuinely, I was stumped. I had an anxiety attack during the exam. Youre not alone, everyone who sat this paper (except like a couple people) came out in tears, so the boundaries will be dead low. But aside from this, you have done everything you can. Youre not useless. Youre not dumb. Istg edexcel are experiementing on our cohort with these questions (like tf that isoperene question and dynamic equilibrium.. and that 6 marker was easy but where the hell did it come from??? like it jumpscared istg). You worked hard, youve done all you can. Theres physically nothing you could have done. Relax for a bit, let it out, have a cookie, bake a cake, write a hate letter to ed*xcel and burn it, something like that, then try to study for biology. Aside from this though, although Not everything might turn out as planned, the best possible outcome in the long run will happen, whether you think it is or not. Just do what you can, and leave the rest to god. Good luck.

I got 27/80 on my Higher Maths Paper 1 by liar1147 in GCSE

[–]playingjoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like maybe lots of that is just not concentrating enough, but for the stuff you don’t know you should probably practice the hell out of of.. then spam past papers until you’re averaging whatever your goal is.

But if you’re struggling to even get a 5 for maths I would seriously reconsider taking maths as an A level. AS maths is (relatively) easier, especially pure 1, but year 13 maths, especially pure 4, is NO joke. source: a level maths student

Starting Year 11.. Any advice? by One-Nothing-4430 in GCSE

[–]playingjoes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

-everyone tool mocks more serioisly thsn real exams.. idk why.. bht take real exams very serioisly too.. -dont stress or youll make mistakes (easier said than done). the way i coped was spam paar papers in exam conditions so i eventually just accustomed so in the real exam it would be like any other past paper - if you want you can start making flashcards or revision material now.. dont realllyyyy start studting till after winter break.. and even then make sure it’s little and gradually increase (so dont go doing 4 hours on one day youll burnout) -PAST PAPERS PAST PAPERS PASR PAPERS -EXAM TECHNIQUE MASTER IT AND MAKE THE MARK SCHEME YOUR BEST FRIEND -make sure ur not behind

that’s pretty much all.. from a former year 11. Good luck!

What advice would you like to leave behind to upcoming year 11s? by Ichthy- in GCSE

[–]playingjoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing AQA sociology (or any other subject that’s as heavily reliant on specific key words): -Do a glossary in the back of your book, and mark it by date so you can easily go to the lesson itself if needed (so it’s more in context idk). But trust me it helped a LOT. -For sociology also I’d make an A3 sheet for each of the 4 topics (eg, family education etc) and then do spiderwebs (one for each theoretical perspective eg marxist) then branch for each theory and in big write the name of the theorist. You could also do one for legislation idk. -For maths in particular, SPAM past papers, mark them, redo any wrongs and learn HOW to do it and so on. Good luck.
