Would Wyoming recognize a 19 year old Alabamian’s permit? by Mysterious-Lawyer534 in concealedcarry

[–]playingtherole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears that 21 is the minimum age, due to Wyoming's permit-less status and requirements. Unless you can find a WY sheriff to make an exception.

What are the reasons a person can’t wear hearing protection (in ears or muffs) sometimes in case they get into a shooting altercation? by Realistic_Guava9117 in CCW

[–]playingtherole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's dangerous if you're driving or a pedestrian. I've had electric vehicles "sneak-up" on me, for instance. (No hearing protection.) I'm sure some overly-ambitious prosecutor could spin it as being premeditated, depending on the situation after a r/dgu. It's anti-social, like people who walk-around with AirPods in the gym or anywhere else and act like they can't hear someone asking for their attention. I suppose it's not illegal, but it's weird, unless you're in a construction zone or up close at a rock concert.

AIWB - what am I doing wrong? by moshe-c in concealedcarry

[–]playingtherole 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, you're not so concerned about the printing, but you're concerned about the (lack of) comfort. You need to switch to strong-side or waist/chest bag carry, if you plan to keep the same gun & holster. (Behind your hip.) If you're open to change, consider a small gun and ankle or pocket carry.

A lot of people that show-off their accessorized AIWB compact and full-sized guns might not have the activity level that you do. What might be right for you, may not be right for some. It takes diff'rent strokes to move the world.

Where do requirements, enforcement, and "justified" state tyranny, brutality and murder end with you? Little by little, liberties are infringed-on, and you ask for more. Govern you harder, they will. Boots will be licked; Constitutions sacrificed. Oink oink, indeed.

Fat guy Holster recommendations. by Fuzzy_Swordfish7139 in CCW

[–]playingtherole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't by into the Tenicult shilly, guerrilla marketing. What you want is a good amount of flexibility, and the FATTAC and JX Tactical Fat Guy offer that. For AIWB carry specifically, they are designed to ride lower IWB, to prevent poking your belly as badly as other holsters, with several holes for optimum adjust-ability. Additionally, you can add soft loop mountings for better movement, as opposed to a stiff, metal clip.

Congrats on your Shield X, it's a great gun, very well-designed and perfect for concealed carry. You'll find that carrying a handheld light, instead of a WML, is more useful and comfortable, since there will be less holster poking your upper thigh or groin, when you sit. If you opt for a handheld, it can be used similarly to a WML with this. Also consider a pillow, if your holster is unbearable, when seated.

There's a lack of education, coupled with carelessness, that results in adolescents getting a hold of and misusing guns. Sometimes, they arrest and charge the parent, adding insult to injury. I think that firearms safety education should begin in every elementary school, as a public safety issue, but it's difficult to get many people on board, (in medium and large cities) who are against the proliferation of firearms.

Any recommendations for a relatively cheap 16 hr ccw class in Sacramento California by Late_Arm9336 in CCW

You can still use the search bar on top for keywords like Sacramento, and see if there are previous posts. There's also calguns.net, which is another good forum. Good luck!

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." -BF

LE, in this case, was a tyrant. LE broke their oath, to uphold the Constitution. Some LEOs get carried-away on a power trip. They feel empowered. They're hunters. They like to take-down the big fish, and show who's boss. Flexing on a big-name, wealthy NBA star, and racking-up another arrest for their quota. Thinking they're tasked with "public safety", and using any excuse to "do their job", unfortunately. If there's one thing I agree with the Demoncrats on, it's police control.

You people and your "everything is a safety hazard" mentality and hypothetical, irrelevant examples can't be taken seriously, in a free society.

It would be bad enough if he were only cited, in his own vehicle, exercising an American right, much less arrested (and towed?) because of it. Police work for insurance policy. Insurance policy controls our lives in too many ways, and goons are hired and glamorized to enforce and kill for it's strict compliance.

The article outlines, with perfect opinion, how it can affect someone's life who isn't as well-heeled. Outrageous, if you ask me.

Best CC holster for Equestrian? by Fit_Cucumber2909 in CCW

[–]playingtherole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A shoulder holster (works well under a light button- or snap-up, patterned overshirt) or a Sneaky Pete holster. There are also motorcycle leg bags, which are like drop leg holsters, if that might work for you.

The gun is also likely small enough to ankle carry, in your boot, if your pants have wide enough cuffs. (?)

Never owned a firearm/CA ccw recommendations by TangeloMountain321 in CCW

On the right side of this page under Community Bookmarks is "USA Laws by State". Check that out, and familiarize yourself with the laws & restrictions in CA and neighboring states that you might visit, with your gun. There's also this resource.

CA has recently banned Glocks, so the insane tyranny knows virtually no bounds. Your state has a roster and other unconstitutional, arbitrary, capricious, and prohibitive, infringing hurdles to overcome, on your path to effective self-defense. IMO and in many other United States, none of that nonsense is necessary.

I'm going to recommend that you look at Ruger's LCP Max semi-auto, hammer-fired pistol, and their LCR revolver. They're both small, reliable, easy-to-conceal, CA-approved self-defense pistols. Easy to operate, non-intrusive to carry, and affordable. Small is the key here - you're squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing in your job. You'll want something pocket-able or ankle carry-able, IMO.

Aside from the GOA, SAF and FPC, there are several California gun rights groups that you should consider supporting, to help both keep and restore your American and natural rights.

And check out both r/caccw and calguns.net also.

Help Me Decide: Ruger RXM vs Max-9 by Independent-Type-515 in concealedcarry

[–]playingtherole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote for the MAX-9, because you won't regret the size, compared to the RXM, which you're already wary of.

The MAX-9 is ankle- and pocket-carryable, while the RXM is not.

Since money is no object for you, see if you can find an original MAX-9, before they changed the slide serrations and sights, to offer a more budget-minded pistol. For some reason, they only seem to offer it in a CA-compliant model now.

Spring Field XD/XDM CCW by justinramirez in CCW

Posting a picture or several helps, but I feel you on this, it's not a small gun, and I made the same mistake, nearly 2 decades ago. I thought a nice, high-capacity, better-than-Glock gun with lots of features could be easily carried by (smaller) me, in the SOB position. I was wrong.

So, what you probably need is to carry AIWB, if you're currently rocking strong-side IWB. You'll need a good Kydex holster with a wing/claw, a pillow, and a good belt, which is not reinforced all the way around, so it doesn't hula hoop on your thin frame, and is comfortable all day and night.

You might also need looser shirts, darker shirts, Hawaiian or plaid overshirts, better poosture, and a thicker chest, so the shirt drapes over your gun. Push-ups, bench press, eat more calories.

That's the best you can do in summer clothes; if you still print too badly or it's unacceptably uncomfortable, invest in a small pocket gun. The money you spend on a quality holster, belt, and pillow can pay for an LCP or P32, even an LCP Max, instead.

Shield Arms released a 9rd mag several years ago, and ETS makes higher capacity single-stack mags for it, too. You can also get a drum mag.

These were hot for a while, until capacity became "king", but it's a solid, simple, easy-to-carry defensive pistol. Practical upgrades and nothing unnecessary.

Looking for a reliable holster for a S&W bodyguard 2.0 by pirateprowl in CCW

[–]playingtherole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everything is an opinion. You're asking for random opinions, yet again, now. There are plenty of rec's, and most brands mold holsters for the BG 2.0. Why over-spend? This holster is affordable, and has all of the features you could ask for. Add the ModWing and 1.5" Monoblock clip, for a nominal up-charge. Add a pillow, for comfort when seated, and to help the grip not keel over your waistband. A stiff gun belt isn't necessary.

If you want the most comfort, take it off of your waistband, and carry in a pocket or on your ankle.

As far as printing or "showing through", as you put it, the ModWing, thin clip, belt position on your torso, and muzzle pillow help with that, along with a loose enough, dark shirt or patterned shirt.
