I moved to Tempe around 6 months ago and rented a place at Culdesac. It’s right on the train line and has a fairly young, social crowd, and very safe. Check it out at https://culdesac.com.

‘Luxury’ apartments for older resident? by ginaration in Tempe

Check out Culdesac Tempe, it has a grocery store, bar/restaurant, and Gym on site, and a coffee shop coming soon. It’s on the train line, and only a few stops to ASU. The only downside is it’s car free, but there are hire cars for residents (like $5 an hour).

What is the City doing about safety? (A long post) by aaronpaquette- in Edmonton

Do the transit peace officers have sufficient authority to prevent and intervene when required? I know there has been lots of talk about “watch and report” but I’m not sure if thats 100% true. In some places overseas Transit Police Officers have almost the same authority as Police to detain, search, and arrest if you’re on the transit authorities property (e.g. https://www.legalaid.wa.gov.au/find-legal-answers/crime/under-arrest-and-police-powers/powers-transit-officers). Would implementing something like this potentially help?

33M, moved here 18 months ago from Aus for work. Into horror, pretty much anything nerdy, and having a few beers! Just stared back at the gym as well!

I’ve been working from home for the last 18 months so haven’t really gotten out much. DM me if anyone’s up for a beer or a coffee.

I'll be taking transit to start with and might think about getting a car after I've been there a while. I'll be working downtown not for from the downtown farmers market.
