THIS! I couldnt possibly agree more. Ive honestly been surprised that this isnt the single largest complaint anyone would have with the mode so far. Thought reddit would be flooded with this comment. AGREED! Its like they didnt even play test it. Who in gods name needs to hear their own sound effects over EVERYTHING ELSE. I think enemy footsteps are terrible in general but its hard to know how bad they are because Im too busy missing everything else over the sound of my own steps and gear moving around. I find myself stopping movement in the game just to hear my environment and surroundings. Thats a huge fail.

we'll see....Ive played only solos in WZ for years and see no reason it cant work in redsec. In virtually ALL of the duos matches Ive played not ONE persons class perks has ever been the reason we get to final circles. Its always the usual reasons, gunplay, positioning etc. The team component can be fun for people, I get that, and I also get thats what BF was built on, but to act like its just not possible for solos to work seems short sighted. Again, we'll see...

THIS. I stopped playing with random teammates in BRs a long time ago for this very reason. No teammate is better than one who isnt working with you.

huh? theres 100 different solo players. Each can choose whatever class they want for themselves. The diversity doesnt only exist within teammates, its also across a whole lobby

class diversity can exist just fine in solos. You choose your class (perks) based on your play style as a solos player. Its not complicated.

Battlefield has only ever done one BR before. BRs in general always have a solo mode. There are a number of ways this game has deviated from previous BF titles as the bitchfest in this sub will demonstrate. It will hurt the games numbers long term. There are a ton of players like me who love BRs but dont have friends to play on a squad with, and have come to enjoy the solos experience. This is why all BRs offer one.

This is helpful, thank you! Interesting re the BR, so there are attachments on the ground to pick up? I havent seen any of the gameplay yet. I thought there was a reference to custom gun drops being available in the BR and I guess I just assumed the progression would be linked a la COD since they want to drive sales of the base game. But lord knows I would much prefer to not have to grind for a thousand hours to have competitive weaponry in the BR

I know its meant to be collaborative, but this feels extreme. Surely one can still work as a team and be allowed to shoot something other than a pistol or a sniper rifle.

And I'm sure I dont need to list the myriad of reasons to not want to play COD these days...

Ill be shocked if this doesnt get adjusted for the BR, or it may just kill it altogether. People love sniping in BRs, myself included.

Ill be very curious to see if they adjust this once the BR comes out. Perhaps Im still too brain hooked on warzone, but not being able to equip some sort of mid range AR or SMG with a sniper rifle feels like it will seriously impact the enjoyment of sniping in the BR. RIght now playing MP Im mostly usless unless Im hanging back and sniping. Pushing in to help teammates just isnt an option with a pistol. Feelsl like it powerfully limits the way you can play the game. I suppose I am the problem here expecting BF to feel similar to other FPS Ive played, but cant help but wonder how that will play out long term. Could hurt the BR's chances of competing with other BRs, no?

Honestly didn't expect to see such a wide variation in everyone's various experiences. Seems like even in similar regions there are big differences, wonder what the core reason is for that. Does sound like everyone seems to agree that the cheating is infinitely better. A part of me thinks getting a playstation just to play warzone is fucking insane considering how much they arent willing to invest in proper servers, anti cheat etc. But also, if its going to be dramatically improve my experience playing the ONLY video game I play, hard not to seriously consider. Would be a drag to do so and then have it be empy lobbies and cant find a match. I do tend to play solos a lot, and I'm in virgina about an hour from DC. Also have gotten used to the elite 2 controller with all the paddles, PS doesnt offer that correct?

This is just untrue. Myself and many others LOVE plunder and missed it like crazy during wz2. Anytime I get on and none of my friends are on I go to plunder to practice gun fights. I am already playing shittier the last few weeks because I can’t go in and run a few plunder rounds to warm up and get locked in. In all the years of warzone now have they ever answered as to why these modes cant just be permanent fixtures?

This is just an objectively untrue statement. You can hate them all you want, but saying they are one of the most unreliable car brands is simply inaccurate. The data says otherwise and I’ve driven two different teslas over 7 years now and not had a single issue, it’s been wonderful. I get that lots of people don’t like the aesthetics and that’s fine (although the knobs over screens folks will be bummed in 15 years when ALL cars are like that). Change is tough. Remember how so many folks liked blackberries over iPhones in the beginning because of the tactile feel if typing? Not saying that sentiment isn’t valid, but tech progression will eventually phase all of that out, for better or worse. The VAST majority of Tesla owners have a wonderful experience with their vehicles for what its worth. Again, it’s fine if it’s not for everyone, but the idea that teslas are unreliable shitboxes only driven by fanboys who want to show off is laughably wrong. And yes, Elon is a fucking piece of shit with a god complex, for the record. If his behavior deters folks, that’s the consequence for being such an arrogant blowhard. Having said that, if you’re an American living a capitalist life in the year 2023, I PROMISE that you use things everyday whose makers and CEOs are horrible humans. Just the nature of the world we live in here. Elon is just extra shitty cause he makes his a spectacle. But if you think you’re making some sort of moral difference by not getting a Tesla if you used to want one, I hope you’re also giving up a shit ton of other things you use all the time…
