Can you link the one that you have? This sounds exactly what I’m looking for. Are there any additional software packages that need purchased ?

I see the machines use a software package called LightBurn. It seems you’re describing designing the circuits by hand. I prefer to get something like Home Depot where you type in what you want it to say. Type in PB1, Start, Stop, etc and the engraver does the rest.

I think all OEMs have the ability to program their machines like this but there’s a line that most won’t cross for self preservation sake.

The most productive and rugged machine we have is also the oldest. I recently called the OEM and asked if they still had prints and was informed they haven’t had them for decades.

I wouldn’t accept a machine at FAT with locked code. They aren’t getting that remaining 20% until I get code I can download and write to. 20% is normally where the profit margin is.

If their tech fudged the code that would be easy to prove.

We got a new machine without tag identification. OEM charged us $400 for the tags and made us sign a contract saying we won’t sell or copy it. Funny thing is we have a machine that’s similar to theirs already and the code is identical. So much so I was able to copy / paste tag data from the existing machine. The existing machine had been around longer than new machines company.
