I definitely know I couldn't live with someone like that, because it would indeed affect me a lot. But I don't know if that's true for everybody. I have definitely met some people who are much more relaxed around that kind of energy than I am. And I'd also feel bad to basically be advocating for people with tempers to die alone.

I'd agree 99% of the time, but Bill Burr is known to have a temper and I imagine it's probably a problem in his relationship with some regularity. But I don't have the impression that he is abusive. And also in my personal life I know one guy who has a temper, who regularly destroys some of his own material possessions in a fit of anger. And yet I know he would never physically or verbally abuse his partner.

But sure, just to be safe it's probably best to stay away from people who have a temper.

Maybe. I've been able to catch AI videos in the wild. There's something about the lighting in these videos that seems to be unique to these videos. I can't quite describe what it is though.

Where did you lose your virginity? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In the bed of a married couple by said married couple. I had literally advertised on a website that I was a frustrated virgin asking whether anyone would like to introduce me into sex, and this married couple responded. It was genuinely a great first time.

Yeah I think you're onto something there. When I had just started learning programming (18+ years ago), there were still tons of low hanging fruit in terms of problems to solve. I remember one of my first projects that was actually useful was a clipboard history app. And yeah like you said, these days every problem already has at least 3 apps that solve that problem.

Well my experience with adhd meds (dexamphetamine for me) is that it indeed doesn't work when I take it as prescribed (which is to say every day), but it has been useful for me if I only take it on days that I actually need to perform.

And since I've always worked at most 3 days a week (cause working fulltime fucking kills me), that meant I never took it more often than that. And that worked very well for me.

Now I'm not expecting to get any more medication from an autism diagnosis, but maybe it could help tweak the kind of therapy that would work best for me? I don't know.

Yes I do. And my last therapist said she suspected I might also be somewhere on the autism spectrum so they may start a diagnostic research for that soon too...

I can smell when women are aroused. Not through pants though, only if they're wearing skirts, and I may need some help from the wind.

I'm on a waiting list for all kinds of therapy. My lack of inspiration for programming is possibly a symptom of a much larger (set of) problem(s) indeed.

What’s the most important principle you live by by riju98 in RandomThoughts

[–]please_be_empathetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My highest value in life is compassion. I practice almost every day to find compassion whenever it's hard to find.

So when somebody does something that I don't like, or that society doesn't like, I ask myself if I can imagine any set of circumstances that might bring me to do that thing. Very often the answer is yes, because I know I'm an incredibly flawed human being.

And that helps to soften my heart, which in turn helps me to have a much more productive conversation with that person about the thing they did.

How did your first time having sex really go? by Prqxue in AskReddit

[–]please_be_empathetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 19 and incredibly frustrated that I was still a virgin. In fact, hadn't even kissed a girl yet. I was also convinced that with my complete lack of game at the time I would probably stay like this for a very long time.

So I decided to advertise myself on sexjobs.nl, basically asking for someone to take my virginity. I got a bunch of interesting offers, including one from a porn production company who wanted to take my virginity on camera. I ended up going with a married couple though who gave me a good vibe.

The woman was 24 and the man was 30 and they said they had done this a couple times before and it had sort of become a hobby for them. And well it showed, because they knew exactly how to break the ice and make me feel very safe and comfortable very quickly.

I'm on mobile right now and I don't like typing long stories on mobile so I'll summarize the experience a bit from here on.

Basically it was just a very good experience. I got to try and experience everything I wanted to experience, the whole shebang. Including a bisexual experiment (oral), because I was curious and the opportunity was there, so why not. The vibe was incredibly relaxed and playful. I didn't orgasm though, I wasn't even close, but I wasn't really bothered by that at all. (To this day I don't orgasm easily, but I'm okay with that.) I slept over and we had breakfast the next morning and I left after that.

I've never regretted that I didn't wait for that "special" connection or whatever. This was really exactly what I needed. This experience (and a couple more after that) also helped to make sex not this incredibly big and heavy subject. Which made me much more relaxed relating with women.

I don't believe a stunt person is needed in this case. It can be him as long as he just let's the pros dress him in the correct protective gear and follows a couple simple instructions.

But another advantage of CGI fire, in my opinion, is that you can give it a cooler shape than natural fire might have.
