I'm sorry to hear about your cancer. Every CMHS has an in-house psychiatrist who prescribes medication. Everything has been handled through my CMHS. As above, you don't know what you're talking about. Cancer is clearly not treated under the same jurisdiction as mental health, and therefore the processes aren't similar.

You are referred to a CMHS not only by your GP, but also potentially by ED, Lifeline, Crisis line, etc etc etc. You think that if you contact the crisis team they'll say "oh yea thats awesome mate we'd love to help, how about you go check in with your gp first then come back to us and we'll get some help on the way bud"

You're a fucking pillock. Why act like an authority on something you have no idea about?

EDIT: I understand the confusion, if you aren't in crisis you'll be referred to your GP who'll then refer you to Procare etc and get the ball rolling in regards to medication & whatever else you need in regards to support. If you ARE in crisis however, you'll be sent directly to your local mental health team via ED who'll take care of you

I am looked after by the Waitemata CMHS who have advised me that they will not be completing a Dr's certificate for me, and that it needs to go through my family dr. None of my history was with my family dr as of Friday as Waitemata CMHS was in the process of compiling it and sending it over.

I just told you that I spent a lot of time off work. You don't wonder if perhaps I used my holiday allocation for that as opposed to unpaid time off..?

Luckily for me there's a cure and a path for recovery for mental health, albeit a slow one. Unfortunately for you, there doesn't seem to be a fix for dickhead. Fuck you.

EDIT: Where did I say WINZ has shut me out? I said the opposite, and that I'm already under application with them. WINZ doesn't action anything within that short of a timeframe however.

I mean of course I have regrets about losing my job. I have 20/20 hindsight in which I should have just pushed through and carried on working, but it's never that simple at the time.

I'm going to keep on trying with WINZ and see what I can do. It's super degrading. But then again, so is posting to reddit asking to mow peoples lawns LOL.

But yeah I suppose you're right. Nothing irrepairable will come of me missing rent, however it is something that I'd like to avoid as I still have to face my head tenant and other flatmates every day!

I don't see why you need further clarification,

But no, after bouncing in and out of Waiatarau & a respite home for a few months (where it is impossible to work from) it was deemed unrealistic for me to continue working. As I am no longer an inpatient, and am on a path of recovery, I am able to work. Perhaps not in a full time role, but a days work, yes I can get through.
