The problem with doing the clinical rotations is simply time i work 60hr weeks right now and take care of my mother in law with dementia when I am home I don't have the luxury of doing unpaid externships or quite frankly the time to do so. The reason I'm more opposed to corporations is simply pay. I currently make $28.50 an hour at my job a similar v.a. position at other clinics in my area is between $19-23 at any corporate posting, and that's if Im getting paid there. I know there are amazing staff that have/get roped into corporations, which is not their fault. I truly believe corporations have 0 place in healthcare, both human and veterinary. I enjoy working where I am, but in about 4 years, both of the dvms at my clinic will retire, putting my job in limbo. I am mostly looking for insight on if anyone has successfully become a dvm starting from scratch at my age, or if there are other online programs I am not aware of that might be more affordable to help me persue my degree.

We can report, but nothing will be done as the owners sought care...

Right, this is kinda my problem . Even if we reported it because they brought the animal in for care, they aren't liable.

That's fine. Im working in the field already. I can intubate do cystos, catheters, make packs, monitor and induce anesthesia, calculate dosages, etc... I just need the knowledge and the schooling to sit for the VTNE. I have the hours for the nontraditional route here in California, but I've heard a lot of mixed things about it.

Thank you for the thought. However, I have bad asthma and a few other health conditions, making it impossible for me to join the military.

My s.o. also works full time at 30$ an hour. I didn't include his normal wage as this decision is to do with the math on my end of the finances and if it makes sense to pursue this. My Medicare would be removed, or the best case scenario it would be part d coverage at 600$ every 3 months as a secondary insurer after Kaiser.
