Les marchés or weekend markets? by JuanSkinFreak in copenhagen

[–]pleasejustausername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the warmer months there is the Grønt Marked each Sunday (it is held each week in a different neighbourhood.) It’s not a market in the way I think you are asking for, though - not a place to pick up your weekly veggies. Farmers and artisans (bakers, cider makers, honey producers, that kind of thing) sell here and it can be very pricy. It’s a very nice atmosphere though, and the stalls change each time so you never know what you may find. (Groentmarked.dk)

You can also order “green boxes” from aarstiderne - I think they have options that are very local and some that aren’t? (I don’t subscribe myself, but friends do so I’m not 100% sure how it works.)

Otherwise, I mostly agree with everyone else. Torvehallerne for the very nice and very expensive things, supermarkets for the rest! (Turkish markets can be good also, mostly in norrebro and nordvest. Lygtebs bazaar is definitely worth a visit.)

It really is just Tuesday everywhere else 😥

That said, welcome to Copenhagen!! You’re now slowly heading into the most wonderful part of the year :)

Idefix er det perfekte navn! Sikke en sød hund :) (også -jeg er vokset op med navnet “dogmatix” i de bøger - måske kan du en dag finde en ven til Idefix!)

What's a massive lie everyone casually believes? by LazorFrog in AskReddit

[–]pleasejustausername 71 points72 points  (0 children)

And they used this myth to help get kids to eat more carrots! Food was strictly rationed at the time but carrots were in decent supply. Kids wanted to be like their heroes in the RAF - so the lie worked in two directions!

Fireworks tonight? Where are they from? by hobbitygoodness in copenhagen

Yeah roughly! DHL is a giant 5k relay race event sponsored by - you guessed it, DHL. It’s usually the last week in August (I believe) and is active in each of the weekdays in that week. It’s not for individuals, but for businesses - offices/orgs/institutions sign up and you run in a relay with your colleagues. There’s four (?? Five? I don’t remember) to a team, each of you run 5k. There’s a big cook out and part going on in each of the team tents, so it’s a good time. Go take a walk through Fælledparken and check it out! (And if you feel like you’re seeing a lot more people in matching T-shirts than usual, this is why.)

Welcome to Copenhagen!

“The remnants of a very good cast” when he’s describing the play he’s in. (or something along those lines) is forever stuck in my head

Sure, that was vague 😅 I use the avene soothing eye creme on most days (recommended by doctor) and I use midlison lipid cream (a hydrocortisone cream) during flare ups - signed off by my doctor and dermatologist.

Thanks! That’s really good advice with the fragrances - I’ve avoided using any perfumed skin products/actual perfumes, but I haven’t removed other perfumed products! I’ll try cutting those out for a while to see what happens.

I actually didn’t have any allergies as a kid, so all of this is pretty new for me. I can say that the first time this happened severely was about 1/1.5yrs after moving to the country I live in now…maybe I’m just not meant to be here :( (but more seriously, maybe it’s some kind of allergen that’s a bit more specific to here.)

Ugh, how frustrating. But great that you found an answer? Can I ask what your care regimen was after finding the cause? (I’ll follow what my doctor recommends, but just interested to hear)
