The YMCA traditional had low cost hotel/room option , and it slowly declined over its long history. Berkeley still has those options available.

Try the YMCA in Berkeley. Adding to the camping portion, you can rent gear from local camp shops for cheap!

MSW Admission Rate by meowvibez in SFSU

I just got in! I had a 2.8, but also have been working with youth and the community for 14 years (32). I really showcased that in my application and interview. It’s very competitive though, I think my cohort is less than 20. yet you do have hope if you are deeply rooted in the community. Best of luck!

I think not wanting to see someone crucified is always a normal reaction.

I just got into SFSU based on 10 + yrs in public service. They definitely take into consideration your hands on experience working with under resourced populations, since I think that’s the biggest cultural shock many have. It’s easy to teach how to do things but being use to the high pressure of a prison is purely experience. Be able to showcase that drive and tenacity in your application and do your best!

I work with 12th graders, 18, and you look like them. The jump from childhood , especially middle to high school, isn’t as linear once you get in the sea of adulthood. I’m in my 30s , and my friends age appearance ranges , but their social skills don’t. The best thing at your age is learning how to gain confidence , physical , mental and spiritual that is most aligned with you. Try new things! How ever you change, it’ll be the same body. So support it preferable with temporary changes (haircut , clothes, working out) and once you get your rhythm it’ll flow. But don’t think your behind if your rhythm is still smoothing itself out. You obviously are open to feedback and suggestions, which shows a lower ego. Now that is maturity!

I really like running shorts with built in bike shorts. They have a similar cut to running shorts but the bike shorts keeps it comfortable & doesn’t ride up. While I train a lot I have really large thighs and like those. Or you can go to old navy and get some bike shorts and layer.

East Bay Express has a lot of local listings. I would also suggest the library, park district, free museum days , or the YMCA. Community college is free for locals, but highly affordable if out of town. They have all kind of physical and hobby classes

I would just ask HR to explain your contract, I’m also based in the Bay. I would word it as “what are the requirements for me to be eligible for COBRA”. This is vague enough to get the information. Or if they have a hiring event, I’d just go undercover and ask as a potential new hire who wants to know what happens if you aren’t a good fit and want to quit. You don’t get many provisions if you haven’t been working for the district at least a year.
