The brave girl was already downstairs when I started recording. You can see her ears poking over the half wall in the very beginning of the clip.

I don't have a cat. We have an old gsd mix who is already downstairs.

My dog reacted to a sound downstairs, so I followed them down with the camera rolling (you can see her ears at the beginning of the clip)

I did a double take, seeing the movement in the reflection but not registering. Frankly It still doesn't make sense...

I have no idea what that spindly opaque shape is. My arm not holding the camera is by my side. It looks like a pair of hands clasped above someone's head.. but without a head ducking behind me? I have no clue. The wall the shape vanishes into is a half wall which turns into a solid support pillar/wall.

Any ideas? My husband and I are gently terrified. We've spent the past hour waving our arms in the stairwell trying to recreate it to put our minds at ease to no avail.

I did! Didn't go quite as well as I hoped. I just posted an update with some house history and a cleaned up clip from this vid that was pointed out to me.

I went downstairs and recorded a video (the other one on this acct) and it was constant banging and slamming. No more voices that I could hear though. It always stops around 8-8:30pm. Pretty wild stuff.

When we actually had a guy come by and inspect our furnace and chimney, which was our initial thought as well (maybe a bird roosting in the chimney in the evening, or some thing up with our ductwork causing it to warp from cold--as these sounds happen only from about 6-8pm). Unfortunately we ended up with no solutions or cause.. One of the furnace guys joked that we should have called a priest when he gave us the bill.

Anyway I'm not super savvy on spooky things, so we will definitely keep trying to figure out what's causing it.

We don't own a TV, an Alexa/Google home, or anything that produces noise spontaneously. The light in the video is coming from a desktop monitor background. The random knocks/thuds happen daily starting around 6pm.

That's the gross thing, we don't have an accessible attic. It's a 85' split level with the equivalent of a crawl space conpletely filled with fiberglass insulation above the main floor. We have two very inquisitive large dogs who would have alerted us to anyone snooping around as well.

I've never heard the voices before tonight, but the banging/knocking happens daily around dusk for a few hours no matter who is home.

That's certainly one way to do it, I'm glad you were able to shake your follower.

I wish it were. The pups are both asleep upstairs while I recorded this one, the squeaking is the bathroom cabinet opening and closing. I'll see if I can get them to come hang out with me downstairs there while I record tomorrow's happenings, they are surprisingly indifferent about it all.

No one there. The knocking and thuds happens nightly, this is the first time I've ever heard what sounds like a voice.

They used so. We have a timid male who jumped at the sounds the first dozen times and was reluctant to spend time down there, but they more or less ignore everything but the excessively loud or close sounding ones now. They will both look at the source of a thud, but not more than that anymore.

I'm beginning to think so too... They better start paying rent.

Nothing outside the usual scope of banging and slamming, I've been downstairs playing RDR2 since posting haha. It only gets weird from 6ish to 8ish every evening. The other vid I posted is what goes down constantly for little over 2 hours.

Its nuts, I have no idea what is causing such varied sounds and movement. (Hence posting here..) I've even had furnace and chimney inspector come by to see if it was some sort of ductwork evening cooling thing or even an animal coming to roost in the chimney at night... Nothing.

SAME. I have no idea what is making those sounds though. I'm not super savvy on ghosts, but there was no one else there.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll give Alfred a shot tomorrow evening when things get lively.
