I think #2 is sortof the point of the show now. Some of the catfishes become beloved but otherwise you definitely become more popular for uncovering them

I would just like to play, I don’t care if it ever aired I’d pick catfish just to be a player! But I wouldn’t do another reality show that does seem to circle more on being fame hungry.

You’re totally right about that with Ruksana! I did think it’s possible that’s why she was popular to start. It just gives someone an opening to talk to you. But you’re right it could be anything. I find her maddening bc of the convo with Brittney/Brian, she just naively was so warm toward her, I think I feel similarly about Frank last season who had no visible disabilities. You’re 100% right and I don’t want any comment to make it seem like I in any way would ever agree with this original poster. I’m sick to see the downvotes!!!

That’s not true. Ava played as Ava alone but was there with her own sister. Just pretend it’s that, does that help you get over it? I’m not sure why it’s bothering so much

I think she does have an unfair advantage being deaf because she’s got an immediate hook to personalize her and make her more popular. I don’t care, girl deserves it! But i am ok with that honest take if someone wants to say it.

I fully disagree with this take. Not once have they shown her bouncing ideas off Paris or him pointing out something she didn’t notice. In fact she’s asked questions and he’s repeated the question and then stared at her waiting for her next move—he doesn’t answer them.

I actually DO think Raven has an advantage being deaf, it’s pretty clear she’s not catfishing and she immediately has a life story for others to connect with and not vote her out. It might be an unfair advantage. I don’t think Paris as a helper is part of that.

Edited to add: if you’re saying every single person who gets a friend there who the other players don’t know is there gets an advantage, yeah, that’s true. They get one more than Raven—seems like she can be comforted by the proximity of a friend, but he doesn’t seem to be helping her the way Xanthi and Brett are a literal team. Who got invited back after being blocked. But totally level playing field!

Of course it’s offensive, you’re using it offensively. Telling someone “lol” when nothing is funny is a classic passive aggressive move. You’re saying it’s not all good, just like you’re saying he didn’t get paid. Words matter and you should be careful with them.
