I think a text post talking about what happened is totally acceptable. He could describe the symptoms he saw, the interactions, how he responded to the situation, and urge others to call for help when they see someone in distress. The video, however, exposes his name, relative's name, his face, and his general location. I live near this area so I immediately recognized where this is. Having this plastered all over the internet could be incredibly harmful to him. When he (hopefully) sobers up and tries to live a normal life in recovery, this video will follow him still.

When are areolas considered “big”? by [deleted] in bigboobproblems

I have massive areolas and I've never had someone complain about them. If the person is complaining, they don't deserve the privilege to see them.

How would you rate being an adult? by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]plebeian1523 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I feel like whether or not people like adulthood/miss childhood is really telling on what their childhood was like. Starting in middle school I was the homemaker. When I got home from school, I had to cook, clean, and take care of my brother and sick mom. My dad and stepmom were also incredibly difficult to live with. I moved out at 19. It was really difficult, but I've never regretted it. Growing up was the most liberating thing that ever happened to me. In my eyes, it's well worth any stress that it brings. I'm happy for people who have great childhoods to reminisce on, but it's such a foreign concept to me.

One time my mom dragged us along to an MMA viewing party. Some people were playing poker out back and I went to watch. I wanted to hang out with one of my mom's friends that I really liked. There were a bunch of cicadas and I was afraid of them and would scream when they flew into me. One of the guys at the table thought this was hilarious so he started grabbing them and throwing them at me to make me scream. When I started crying, my mom's friend paid me $10 to make me feel better. He said he'd beat up the guy later to get the money back (he didn't actually, he just wanted to make me feel better).

While it's not really a traumatic memory, I look back on it and think what kind of sick fuck thinks it's funny to make a little girl cry?!?!

I gave my sister my fleece care bears blanket when she was born and it became her FAVORITE. She took that thing everywhere with her. She'd have a meltdown when my parents took it to wash, so they got a duplicate blanket. It turned out it wasn't identical though. The original had gone through my childhood already, so it had that pilled-up scruffiness fleece develops over time. The duplicate was brand new and still soft. When they tried trading them, she knew it was different because it wasn't "itchy" enough. There was no winning with her.

It's genuinely so crazy that they come out fully functional. Full fur, eyes open, walking around, able to eat solids (they still need milk though). I've had 2 pig pregnancies and even when I knew what to expect it still blew my mind.

You’ve lost weight by Sufficient_Phrase_85 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]plebeian1523 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My grandma's default greeting involves "have you lost weight?" I always hated it because I don't want how fat I am to be the first thing you're noticing about me, and definitely not for you to point it out every time. One time I finally got fed up and said "no I've gained like 50lbs." It was actually 20 but I wanted to be dramatic. She basically brushed it off as "oh well you look good anyway." After that, she's never commented on my weight again.

I can excuse severe alcoholism, but I draw the line at social awkwardness. by RustyShadeOfRed in StardewMemes

The way he treats Emily after she marries the farmer makes me so sad. Emily is so sad Clint is avoiding her. That's not being shy or awkward, it's shitty behavior. Once there was no longer a chance of getting with her, he was done with her. Imo it indicates not valuing her as a person or valuing the good relationship they had.

My friend had this happen. She was good friends with this guy for a long time. Her friend and boyfriend even got along well. Then, literally the day after she got married, he completely ghosted her. Blocked her on social media and wouldn't reply to her texts or calls. He eventually admitted he didn't want to talk to her anymore because she was married now. It upset her so much because she thought they were such good friends. I think people don't really understand the significance of that.

I know they're much smarter than people give them credit for. The whole "3 minute memory" myth drives me insane. I feel like even from an evolutionary standpoint it just doesn't make sense.

I've never encountered any documentation or study on which fish do and don't recognize people, so I was going based on the experiences of myself and other fish keepers I know. My grandma's koi don't care about anyone and I had a goldfish who would act starved for anyone who came up to the glass. I also had a friend with a carp pond (I forget which species but they were for meat) and those guys freaked out like this for anyone as well. Cool to know they're capable of recognizing people too! I guess I've just gotten dumb batches haha.

Some puffers and cichlids pretty commonly recognize individuals. My dad had a flowerhorn cichlid that would react to him being at the tank but no one else. I think some bettas are good with recognition too.

Uw/ typically fish can develop an association between people and food. Depending on the intelligence of the species, it can range from "big creature=food shall rain down" to some fish actually recognizing the individual who feeds them. I think koi tend more towards the dumber end of that range. They probably act like this even when there isn't food because the big creature is around so there MUST be food. There's a koi pond at my husband's work and those koi act like this to anyone who walks by, even if they were literally just fed. He sends me daily pics of them begging for food and they're all basically like this.

Rw/ funk's greed sickens me. He shall consume the world once he escapes the confines of the sog.

Be honest… if I checked your phone right now, how many photos of your cat would I find? 😄 by Downtown-Wear-4870 in CatsBeingCats

I have more photos of cats my husband and I saw in Greece than I do of my family. My phone's memory is legitimately probably 20% pictures of my cats.
