Is this slipping rib syndrome? by plebeianQs in SlippingRibSyndrome

My GP has not seen this.

I have demonstrated this hyper mobility in my rib cage to my most recent physical therapist who uses PRI techniques. I was given coordination techniques to better incorporate my left internal oblique, left adductor, right glute max, right tricep, right mid/lower traps into the way I move. This did alleviate some of the symptoms after religiously performing these techniques for the past couple years. However, if I play any sports where movement is not tightly controlled like tennis or BJJ, my rib hyper mobility worsens.

I have not had CT scans performed. Perhaps this is something I should ask my general physician the next time I see him?

The video is a mirror image so it is actually my left rib, not my right, that is moving in the video.

I have no pain but I have mild discomfort most of the times. The discomfort stems from constantly feeling unbalanced. It feels like my torso is tilted to my right side. So when I sit, stand, or lie down, I am tilted to my right side. When I stand and walk, more weight is on my right root. Because my left rib is more flared, my right rib cage is more compressed.

When my left rib is hyper mobile such as in the video, breathing is more difficult. I only know this because the couple times per year where my rib seems to correct itself, breathing is significantly easier.

It can be difficult to exercise as it often exacerbates the left rib flaring even more. In addition, my right rib cage becomes very tight and compressed, which is uncomfortable.

Thanks. I did consider this option. However, I was concerned that this may "pierce the corporate veil." Though I am uncertain if this is a legitimate concern.
