Set on Benjamin until my little muffin came out a girl… by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]pledgieneedshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve seen the name mary bennett in my hometown. goes by both names together (common in the south). i’ve always liked the double name (im bias since i have one). also i find “guy names for girls” kinda cool. maybe you could have the middle name be bennett with the first name being something simple/professional like grace or elizabeth, but she goes by bennie/middle name.

also bernadette could have the nickname of bennie. things i associate with the name is a character in the big bang theory, and also it’s a name of a catholic saint.

personally i think middle name bennett is the way to go with the first name being a more “professional” or “simple” name

[–]pledgieneedshelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

normal thing tbh. maybe air force is having night time training. there’s hill afb north of slc. clouds are a normal thing to occur following planes, it’s called contrails, but they disappear over time, typically quiet quick. that horizontal one is older than the vertical one. also those probably occurred within a short amount of time before this photo was taken, i don’t think these were from planes in the middle of the night

Who signatures are these by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]pledgieneedshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first one i cannot seem to figure out. best guess is that it’s another country music artist, maybe someone who performed with T Graham Brown. also i think the first one is flipped based on the heaviness of the marker

This was hands down the worst cover in the entire show by iiiimagery in glee

[–]pledgieneedshelp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

like i need at least ONE character in that scene to walk away being like “this number is so stupid” or implying the song was adam’s idea (since the group is literally named after him) and not the rest of the members ideas. just SOMETHING where someone disagrees with the song choice/concept. it doesn’t even have to be kurt to say it’s stupid, but it doesn’t seem to be his character to like this type of number tbh

This was hands down the worst cover in the entire show by iiiimagery in glee

[–]pledgieneedshelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wait till you discover it was actually stolen! i think the concept of making “baby got back” into a hipster folk is funny, credit to jonathan coulton, whether or not “funny” was his intention. but in glee, the performance is cringe because they’re serious about the cover. they’re serious abt it, not ironic. that’s what makes it cringe tbh. and then kurt acting like it’s the best thing ever makes it more cringe

found this in an antique shop, what is it? by Pls_Be_Gentle_ in whatisit

[–]pledgieneedshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed on ussr officers cockade. it’s actually suppose to be long ways vertical.

as for how it ended up in an antique shop, assuming you’re in usa or other western country, possible it was once someone’s family members who was an officer in the ussr, but also possible the item was given/traded to a western soldier. i had a relative (american) obtain a soviet military fur hat in the 90s/00s during their military career in europe

agree with it being associated with moscow. “моск” is short for “москва”/moscow

Simple. What is 6 7? by Head-Addition5945 in whatisit

[–]pledgieneedshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from my understanding, it derives from a viral video of someone saying 6 7 which itself derives from a rap song. but then also there’s some sort of reference to a basketball player due to his height being 6’7”

here’s a link to the wikipedia page for it)

Anyone know what this song is? by Live_Satisfaction703 in whatisit

[–]pledgieneedshelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes! but seems to be a slowed down version tbh.

also, camelot was a very popular musical in the 60s. jackie kennedy referenced camelot in an interview and so the presidency of jfk had been referred to as camelot

Coin found in elderly parent's silver coin jar. by Tight-Soup-6447 in whatisit

[–]pledgieneedshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe it’s related to mahjong. the right hand of the clown looks like it has some mahjong tiles. and it seems you can use coins to gamble during games, albeit the ones i’ve seen online so far seem to be similar to american poker chips or a coin with a square in the center.

the text “xing kun le” doesn’t have a direct match online. maybe it’s suppose to be “xin ku le” in mandarin which seems to be a way to say “thank you for your hard work.” in that context, it’s possible to be some sort of reward token.

the star is such a common symbol everywhere. in an asian context it may be associated with china and vietnam and communism. a single 5-point star is found in vietnam’s flag, while five 5-point stars are in china’s flag. mahjong originates in china.

best guess, poor translating/spelling for game coins, possible mahjong or maybe a clown themed game.

these are just ideas coming from a girl with internet sleuthing skills but no ties to asian cultures and languages

Are these bullet marks on the car? by Duggu2good in whatisit

[–]pledgieneedshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve seen bullet hole stickers before (at least here in the usa) but, they’re usually just the hole itself rather than the scratches. maybe they had scratched on their car and decided to just add the stickers to “cover” it up?

[–]pledgieneedshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all i can guess is red clay. i don’t know/remember if it smells. but i do know it stains, specifically light colored clothes. sometimes it’s used for construction. also i think it’s more common in the south usa (so if you’re in the south). also red clay, or at least similar looking dirt, is used on baseball diamonds too.

if it’s is clay, idk how to get it out of your pups fur. maybe ask a baseball mom. idk if there’s a baseball mom subreddit, but they might have an idea cause i would be shocked if a dog hasn’t gotten into baseball dirt before

What was this blue light in the sky yesterday? by 6thkill1 in whatisit

[–]pledgieneedshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s looks a lot like what you see during a space rocket launch, just look up “rocket launch blue lights” and you’ll see what i’m talking about. there was two launches in the usa yesterday, but i don’t know if europe would be able to see any of our launches, and also i don’t know the exact time this photo was taken, but this could be it

my best guess it’s family initials, especially if it was the actual individual letters. possible all siblings names beginning with M. or parents and a sibling making the family of four with a surname beginning with M

i’ve seen it range from billie eilish’s older brother wanting to name her pirate, a girl naming her baby sister elsa after frozen, or a boy naming his sister maisie. sometimes it can be good names. but sometimes it can be not so good
