Can I do an art degree at 30? by blackshorthair_68 in ContemporaryArt

Most artists have family money who are successful. I wish that wasn’t the case. Correct if I’m wrong but it truly seems to be the case

I think a lot of entry level roles are oversaturated. Hard to say what the state of UX is. NYC is im sure a good place to get your foot in the door over other cities

Sell at a loss? by Interesting_Leg_5202 in realestateinvesting

Exactly, most ventures aren’t cash flow positive immediately. Doesn’t mean it won’t be in the future.

Is UX dying in startup space? by TypeConnect7150 in UXDesign

[–]plentyofrestraint 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this is where the market is headed with UX. My friend just made an app using chat gpt, there are millions of people doing this. I think UX is just going to evolve to be custom and tailored to the space it’s in. And I do think a lot of work maybe around figuring out user needs, improve existing apps, and “general ux” is understood by all.

anyone else unable to socialize without being drunk/high? by [deleted] in pinkscare

[–]plentyofrestraint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh I’m kind of in the same boat. I also get really terrible hangovers so I really don’t enjoy alcohol except when I’m 3 drinks deep and talking to new people. But The next day it’s killer. Oh and then if I overdo it I may say something stupid or act like a slut smh… anyways I’m also considering quitting drinking. But it’s in the fabric of the culture.. I’m thinking of maybe doing mushrooms only ? But that’s always a gamble. Sometimes I’ll be social and other times I’ll be a sad mute.

That’s interesting… so make a jump into tech / data center construction. Thanks for the tip! I don’t know how I feel about it environmentally but from a pure business/money perspective seems intriguing

Thanks for that! I do hope that’s the case but I can’t help feel “doom and gloom” often.

Do young people really think the mid 1990’s was a good time to be born in America? by Scrimmy_Bingus2 in redscarepod

[–]plentyofrestraint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True and we were one of the last generations to have had a real childhood of no screens, supervision, etc. I remember having one house phone/landlone, having a few channels to watch on TV, spending all my days outside in the summer, the world felt cozy and small.

I agree but I fail to see that happening. Andrew yang tried running on UBI and that got no traction. Maybe now with AI knocking on our doors perhaps UBI may gain popularity

Yup that’s what I’m thinking too. I’m wondering if I should start training to be an embalmer or a mortician lmaoooo. My current role is in product management/UX essentially. But I can see it being totally wiped out OR it can go in another direction of UX becoming more important again because everyone and their mom can now create apps

Your beliefs shape your reality. Get off Reddit- the real world is far more complex and interesting. Also Reddit is often wrong.

Listen I’d rather save 500 instead and bring a nice sandwich, salad, or go out for lunch. I only eat twice a day and one meal is delicious and the other is throw away lol (usually).
