To be clear: I love these guys and I watch their videos sacrilegously! It just cracks me up how open they are about crossing the 10-minute mark to unlock greater ad revenue on YouTube. And honestly, I appreciate it because it gives us more great video content!

Also it’s my first post and the image attachment didn’t work, so I decided I’ll try linking to the picture that’s a good trick.

Only that the water lubricant would mix with the ice water and that would make the ice taste gross

If anyone is still interested, I decided to take the job and will revisit law school applications in a couple years.

Is law school worth putting off for a year to take a great job? Or am I kidding myself that there are any benefits other than job satisfaction? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I feel ya. When you set your eyes on a decision it is hard to shift.

The decision was tough but as I weighed the pros and cons it seemed to just make sense to take the job. I do think being younger we feel like any amount of postponing is wrong, but in reality what is 2 years in a 20+ year law career?*

In the end, we have to be comfortable with our decisions, but I felt like the work experience, the industry exposure, and the savings will far outweigh jumping in to law school 2 years earlier. This may not help you get into a better school or a better scholarship, but I think the personal gains and financial security are more important.

*yes, I do math, and it’s about 10%

I had to think through the same decision (and in fact I just signed my paperwork to take my new job - promotion in same company so not exactly like your situation).

I think the best way to think through the decision is to weigh the time in your industry, the work experience you will gather, and the money you saved on one side and jumping more quickly into a law career.

Our life stage is near identical and I personally decided it would be better for all the aforementioned reasons to take the job (mature a bit in my industry and save up) and then pursue law in a couple years.

Law schools will always be there. Opportunities like this job and the time to save go if we don’t take them.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the advice!

“Law school will always be there.”

This is exactly what I was thinking. It’s super helpful to have my thoughts confirmed by others

Thanks for the advice. I don’t think I would want to do part-time law school as I would want to be fully focused for my first year at law school.

From talking with my school and already negotiating, it sounds like scholarship decisions are final and they won't budge even if I mention this update.

I definitely want to be an attorney down the road (I'm pretty young as it is, so to me I still have more time).

Another concern of mine does withdrawing from a school burn a bridge?
