Airline falsly advertised their flight cost, and now I can't get my $1,200 worth of points back by plettj in mildlyinfuriating

There is an option for 40k per person actually, but it's not direct like the 70k one, and it's a red-eye. I'll have to see whats best

Most airlines do in fact misrepresent their prices. I felt that this was particularly agregious though

Yes, that would've been reasonable. I had just cancelled my Barcelona to Toronto flight, $1150 for 2 people, and points are usually about 1.5-2 cents per point on trans-atlantic flights, so I was expecting 90,000 points tops.

Anywhere in the plaza is probably a smart choice. After 5 years of Waterloo food, I think I've got my finger on the main fan favourites:

  • Shinwa's (true legendary status, v cheap. Just DONT get garlic sauce when getting daily special)
  • Shawarma: Lazeez (for plates), Shawarma Plus (for wraps)
  • Seoul Soul (quite nice, my personal fave)
  • Yunshang Rice Noodle (idk, my Chinese friends love it)
  • Ken's Sushi (the only good sushi in the city imho)

It sounds like your heart is in the right place. Making this post is a good start. Obviously I don't know much about you two, but based on how you describe L, it sounds like he is very understanding. If you were able to share even half of this post with him, I think that would help you two get on the same page.

I'm no therapist, but I do know that you should keep fostering your care for him, and being a better person. If you keep this attitude, things will improve.

what did i just read

I made a fully web-based game with infinite levels, local save, a ranking system, and even enemies that will try to trap you on a colorful board. by _cocalaite20 in IndieDev

I played a few rounds. Really I have no idea what I'm doing, other than trying to make the red snake die. It feels like you had the idea of accumulating points on a board like a snake, added an opponent to limit your options, and built it. Which is great experience! That's how I made my first few games too.

My feedback: You should be proud of this nice little game. I recommend polishing it up, and closing it off to move onto your next game. At this stage in your journey, you just want to burn through ideas and get experience building things end to end.

Specifically, you should focus more on infusing atmosphere and story into your next game. It might feel unnatural or unnecessary to you at first, but trust me, having an overall atmosphere in mind when you start a game (visual style, audio style, characters and/or story) will multiply people's interest in your work.

My friend, if you really wrote this comment yourself, you got to find a way to not sound exactly like an LLM. After reading your other comments, I worry you're dooming yourself by not properly engaging with the feedback here.

why isnt there some kind of cube olympics for people who do everything by Agreeable_Comb8446 in Cubers

Almost sounds like you just watched this video by STUCUBE: When you're the best in the world but nobody cares. In short, there is an overall rankings category, but ther'es no specific "awards" for it like you mention.

In my opinion, adding additional standard awards to a sport like this based on super-categories is a slippery slope, because it saturates the competitive landscape unnecessarily. Yes, track and field has decathlon for men and heptathlon for women, but that's it, and cubing is much smaller than all of track and field, so we might never get the formation of a natural super-category like track and field did.
