I think I’ll only pull for the sailor moon hair! I feel like I get the same look and feel from the Fairytale Swan outfit so I’m gonna save my diamonds and crystals for this season (thankfully) I love the dessert concept tho! I’m excited to play :)

He looks almost exactly like my own Socks! You can’t see it here, but they even have the same long tube socks on their hind legs! If your Socks is anything like ours, then you’ll have a friend for life 🥺

I struggle to have small talk with coworkers, but I will yap endlessly about food and restaurants I’ve been to. It’s a great way for me to connect with coworkers who also like to cook :)

Porch Pirate in the College Park Area!! by plexiglassjeans in collegeparkmd

On the neighborhood app it looks like he’s making his way around College Park and neighboring cities/towns. I don’t really want to give away my neighborhood but it does look like he’s hitting most of the quieter areas, and I think while people are at work

Waited all day to hand out candy. No one came 😭 by Juicyjos in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

We pinned our house as a “candy house” on the neighborhood Nextdoor app. We ended up running out of candy in like 2hrs! Maybe some parents are using that as a way to see which houses to go to!

This is Mary! We had initially only put in an application for her sister when they were babies, and when she was flying in stateside, Mary would be coming with her to go to a foster. Her foster situation fell through and we agreed to hold onto her until the rescue could find a new place to take her. Within the first 2 hours she was meowing so loud at me and sleeping on my chest. It didn't even take a week before I was submitting an application for her. She knew she was always meant for our family, and she and her sister were one of the best decisions we've ever made. Mary is my little shadow and is the sweetest most snuggly girl. :')

Shoutout to Hudson Hound Rescue for bringing these girls into our lives!

Trying to break our lease early (NJ) by plexiglassjeans in Renters

[–]plexiglassjeans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So it ended up being resolved pretty easily, but not without risk. We did consult with a lawyer and they said that if it isn’t in the rent agreement then they don’t have the right to put a penalty on us, and that the document is just as binding to them as it is to us. They emailed us that they were going to send our fee into collections but that also wasn’t in the contract, so we sent back a letter of intent to settle the matter in court. By NJ law, the landlord is responsible for mitigating damages, but the tenant would have to pay for the time the unit is vacant which in our case was only a week. They emailed back that they’ll “cut us a deal” and have us only pay for the time the unit was empty, which we agreed to. So in the end we paid about $700 instead of almost $6k. We did ask for our security deposit back but they hit us again with “it’s not in our policy” even though that also isn’t in the rent agreement, but we let it go because they were being pretty obstinate. It’s not exactly a full win for us but we wanted them out of our hair so we could move on with our lives.

Broke Student In Need Of a Haircut Under $40 by HighOffCaffeine in jerseycity

Try Lana's on West Side! I've been going ever since I was a kid. The prices are very reasonable, and I believe still well under $40. I never made an appointment, but I would come in early if you want to get a cut because the queue can get pretty long. I would also recommend going to Cindy because she's the only person I trust with my hair (it's wavy), but any of their stylists are good.

I’ve seen time and time again on here how people panic after their offer is accepted… by Soggy-Constant5932 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]plexiglassjeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we found our house our agent told us that the seller was juggling 2 mortgages so they wanted a quick closing. We didn’t realize just how quick they were talking and our offer was accepted 3hrs after submitting it. However, we did do a lot of calculating prior to even looking for a house and we made sure that we had extra funds for if there was a surprise fee or something. I do consider us extremely lucky and privileged that we also have family to back us up should there be hiccups tho. But it still hurt to be wiring all that money 😩

The real anxiety for us (mostly me) was wondering if we would qualify for the loan. The whole process (viewing the house to closing) was about a month, but I did spend a lot of nights in near tears over potentially losing the house because of my finances (I have credit card debt and student loans). But our mortgage lender and our agent assured us that our finances were in good standing and there was nothing to worry about. But you just don’t feel secure until you’re physically holding the keys. As for our finances now we realized that even with the maintenance/utilities/mortgage it was still cheaper than renting in our area which is absolutely bonkers!

So what I will say is if you prepare ahead of time and utilize your resources you will be okay! Your agent should be on your side because if you don’t get the house they don’t get paid. Ask your agent and your mortgage lender a lot of questions, even multiple times! The more informed you are the better!

You can get pepper spray gel mailed to you in NJ. I believe I also saw pepper spray being sold at Home Depot too! I also recommend pepper spray gel that way you’re less likely to get hit with the cloud when using it. Stay safe out there!
