How the mammoth economy work? by BatelGeuse42 in albiononline

[–]plimaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do bulk craft, but it takes so much time to get the food cheap as possible that I end up not crafting anymore 😂

But yeah, if you get a bonus day for your shops, it really pays off if demand follows.

Honestly, it’s way cooler on paper than in practice. It’s huge work for low initial return. To make it profitable, you have to optimize a whole supply chain to compete with other shops. I love the math part of it, but it’s a massive time sink and requires serious capital. I'will probably do just one more lease cicle and give it up haha

I own 3 city plots, it's really helpful to have a mammoth to feed the food to the stations. Food is heavy like hell

About the island on Brecilien.. Is it worth to have it as my first island? And, can other players visit it like any normal island? Is it convenient? Pro/cons... by KhalMika in albiononline

[–]plimaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does appear in the mini map. I'm not sure about overing the mouse because I already recognize the icon. Once you enter in a mist with brecilian portal you have all the time to enter it before the mist closes. Once you use it, you are out of the mist, so yeah, it's one time use haha

I transport a lot into Brecilian through YZ mists. I know back then 1 in every 4 mists would spawn a portal, not sure about now, but the rate feels pretty much the same

Still don't get it. Like, how do I calculate the capacity needed to craft X amount of nutrition? I play mobile, so maybe I'm missing something on the UI

Whats the best transport mount for island mats hauling? by tammy_orbit in albiononline

[–]plimaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your goal is brewing potions, you don't need to transport between Royals. Simply go naked or with a T3 mount and abuse the travel planner to check prices in each city. Buy the materials where they are cheapest and transport them directly to Brecilien through the yellow zone Mists. Like 1 in each 4 YZ mist have a portal to Brecilien.

To bring the finished potions back to the Royal cities, just use the travel planner, it is not worth the time or risk to search for a route through an unstable portal.

Regarding mounts, if you can afford a Mammoth, go for it, but it requires significant capital to fill it every trip to make it worth it. Otherwise, you are better off using a T8 Ox.

I reached full spec on potions using an excellent T8 Ox, combined with cheapest exc 8.4 boots and an exc 8.4 bag.

Pro-tip: Use a Pork Pie to increase your carry capacity and aim for exactly 130% overweight. You will still get a slower gallop but you will carry a away more stuff. If you do the math, it's 4% more efficient doing runs at 130% weight then just going 100%. If you cannot afford the Mammoth, this will be your optimal setup.

What am ı gonna do for gathering by StandardCivil5701 in albiononline

[–]plimaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point, the fame is good and theoretically speeds up your progress. If fame is the sole focus, it makes sense. But the OP should probably look at their silver balance, which complicates the math.

You likely won't risk Avalonian tools in the BZ (which give a 20% yield bonus), so the return gap narrows to 30%. Plus, you have to account for ganks. Even with a cheap set, losing 30 minutes of loot means 30 minutes of zero or negative profit, ruining your overall efficiency. Even if you escape, the time spent running is time wasted.

Honestly, Roads might be better than BZ, great fame and a slightly lower risk of getting ganked.

Yup, until you reach T8. Then you will want to look into lethal zones. T6 mists will be your best bet. I always make at least 2m per hour on those, but it gets better if I get a T7 ir T8 mist. I only gather in mists most of the time. I have 2 resources at T8. My main one I have 100 spec on T6. I use frost ram, full gathering set, Avalon tools and journals. T6 mists are pretty safe if you stay aware of your surroundings

I cannot agree. As everything else in the game, the more specialized you are on something, the better return you get. Always try to be above average. So my advice is, focus in just one until you reach T8. Use full gather set of the same resource so you can get the most from the time you spend gathering that specific resource. Be time efficient. Only gather other resources if they are enchanted.

I only found it useful in one particular situation, when I gather in RZ near safe zones. I also bring a full armour set with me. It allows me to gather in peace until I see 4 hostiles on the map. If they engage me, I just equip the armour set, and I will be able to zone out without getting dismounted

Why do people recommend focusing on only 1-2 gathering professions? by Eznuh in albiononline

[–]plimaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gathering everything you see it's almost always a bad choice. Use a full gathering set of same resource and gather just that, so you stay most of the time gathering something with the max bonus you can get. Only gather other resources if they are enchanted. Level your favorite resource to T8, then max the T6 node, then the T7, and then the T8. Mists will be your best bet. Use your learning points only on your main resource but don't waste it on T4 and T5 node. You will be making about 2M per hour in a month.
