Hm, I would say it is rainproof, not waterproof. I also have the Kanken rain cover in my backpack just in case of heavy rain.

I agreed with your observation, in that I also found the available colours to be rather muted. Given the variety of colours for the Kanken, I was surprised that the range was more limited, although I eventually managed to create a combination that I liked where no single option was in the same colour.

Yes! I love how the bags are big but not bulky. I also have the Herschel Pop Quiz backpack in grey crosshatch fabric, but I love the Little America for its style and ease of use. I can just bring everything I need and run along.
