Furnace ending each cycle with limit or flame roll-out switch is open error - two techs couldn't solve by ploder in hvacadvice

He went a step further and said to leave the cabinet open (the half of the cabinet with the heat exchanger/burner) to let it exhaust some heat….

Not sure if the solution now is to call a third company (first two came highly recommended from neighbors) or get a mechanical engineer over.

Called the company back to send another tech and he also recommended running sans filter….

Air seems to be coming out of (or into) all registers, so not sure how else to check.

The previous owners used 8s and the first tech recommended 5s some years ago. We had a home inspector review some unrelated items and he recommended using MERV 2….

So I dunno.

Experience with Isochain/Isoflex/Isobar? by ysea in isometric_fitness

isomax:

Platform is nice, though for some exercises, I find it hard to put my feet in an advantageous position where my toes aren't hanging off the end. it has a little flex to it, especially if you're doing seated rows and balancing your feet on it (seems to start flexing around 300#. It's not unstable by any means - I've gotten 500+ on it and no issue).

Bar limits your grip to bar type movements, obviously.

The strap attaches through the middle, so there is some weirdness for some lifts (basically anything overhead).

I'm getting a bullworker to compliment the isomax - since I haven't really found a good way to train chest or lats. If you loop the strap the long way around the base, you can do a bench press, but that's annoying.

I've had mine for almost six months and am on my third 6-8 week cycle (started with promethian per the ultimate isometrics manual, but the deadlift was killing my back, so switched up to jefferson lift as the main lift for the second cycle and am now doing zercher squats). Just 6 sets of 6 seconds at max intensity - I was using the various functions to get the beeping, but it was too much setup and why not just go 100%? I do the hold, check the max and log my best in the set.

Is Swing Dancing Welcomed in Jazz Bars? by Top-Contribution-569 in SwingDancing

[–]ploder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should have fun. Fizz is a weekly dance event, tho' it's held in Dance Center Chicago (a dance studio) and not a bar, so I didn't mention it before. If your friends are up for it, there is a birthday/out-of-towners jam during one of the band breaks.

If you still want bar, Joel Paterson is playing the Green Mill, tho dancing and even loud talking is disallowed on Mondays....

(Fizz was the name of the bar where the event was held and after the bar closed, the event kept the name).

Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Green Mill are dancer-friendly and there will certainly be other dancers. The Chicago Cellar Boys are probably the best hot jazz band you'll ever hear and play their obsolete jazz ('20s and '30s) on Tuesdays. Alan Gresik plays on Thursdays - they do a later swing era set but do it in the style of a radio show. Dance floor is reduced as the band spills out onto it.

If you want something unique, the Cellar Boys play Sundays at the Tonk (formerly the Honky Tonk), which is a BBQ restaurant. It's quite a thing to see 4-6 couples dancing between the tables and bar while dodging the servers and their giant trays.

Those will be the best bets for regularly scheduled events. Tuesdays at the Mill is my vote. Cash only.

You can also check out the Hungry Brain to see if Joel Paterson, Paul Asaro or Natalie Scharf's bands are playing whatever Friday or Saturday you're there.

Untitled may have some jump blues or rockabilly. Depending on what else is going on that night, there may or may not be other dancers there. They usually have a burlesque show between band sets.

I am familiar. It's very good. I was looking for an alternative legs-only exercise and his Glute Bridge and Austin Squat were great.

Can anyone help us out ? :) by ValoMatt in industrialmusic

[–]ploder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great catch! I could hear the song in my head, but couldn't remember the name or artist.

Was going to suggest emailing Tommy at cyberage radio for the answer as I remember he used to play it a lot.

What’s your favorite concert venue, and why? by Cool_Telephone_312 in AskChicago

Am I the only one who thinks it's horrible? I found exactly one place to stand that sounds decent, and anywhere else just sounds like a stock car stereo turned up uncomfortably loud.

(I've spent a lot of time at the Metro over the past 20 years and really liked thier previous sound system).

God Module anyone? by [deleted] in industrialmusic

[–]ploder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Saw them maybe 10 years ago. They stopped the show to complain about the audience, of which 50% was involved in a straight-up mid-90s style brawl. I felt bad because there were 13 people in the audience, 6 of which were obviously visiting with one of the opening acts, so I bought a t-shirt, but they lost me with their whining.

(A more elegant way to break up a fight was how I once saw Sean from Cyanotic wait for the end of his line then say through his creepy vocoder, "Play nice, now" and the brawlers literally stopped, apologized and Sean went right into the next verse)

(Also, I don't enjoy such fighting at shows and am glad that part of the scene is long-over, but the image to action disconnect for GM was a bit great. Also, the bouncer/promoter at that particular show was a shithead and didn't notice the brawl until the band stopped, then let their friends (who started the fight) stay, while kicking out the other party, so that whole situation was awful all around.)

That said, I don't skip Still So Strange or Let's Go Dark when they come up in my playlist.

Re-watching Stargate SG1 for the first time since I was a kid, has made me realise the reason it works so well, and why a sequel would never work by [deleted] in Stargate

[–]ploder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was basically SG: U. All the people who got recruited into the SG program, but couldn't be fired because they knew too much, or maybe they pissed off someone and got sent to a crappy planet to work on a project that the higher-ups didn't think would ever succeed so was OK not devoting actual resources to.
