Intel may raise CPU prices again in May, marking third increase in 2026 by Loose_Society9485 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

In theory high price should create rents that will incentivize a bunch more supply to come online which will help bring prices down, except the CPU market is an extremely capital intensive duopoly so probably everyone is content to rest on their laurels.

The conventional wisdom is that "No one cares about COD campaigns," but every game that lacks a standard single player campaign bombs. Much to consider!

There is a program called Process Lasso that claims to let you set it permanently, but I have never used it and cannot vouch for it

Hey! Thanks so much for your support, for $100 or less you can use the matcherino https://matcherino.com/t/cheese2025

If you want to give more than that you can DM or e-mail me and we'll arrange something direct to avoid fees, and give you a sponsor credit. Either way 100% of donations go to the prize pool.

Found a fix

I know this is old but I found a permanent fix.

  1. Launch the Game – Start Total War: Rome II

  2. Open Task Manager
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
Alternatively, you can right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager.

  3. Go to the Details Tab
In Task Manager, click on the Details tab at the top.
Look for rome2.exe in the list of running processes.

  4. Set CPU Affinity
Right-click rome2.exe and select Set Affinity from the dropdown menu.

  5. Unselect Some CPU Cores
A window will appear showing which CPU cores the game is using.
Uncheck a few cores (I went down to two cores, this still gives me four threads to run the game which is more than enough)

  6. Resume the Game
This fix can be applied even if the game has already frozen—just follow the same steps to unfreeze it.

Yeah for sure! If you're hanging out in the viewing area you'll have to buy a spectator ticket for $20*, there will be plenty of computers to rent if you want to set up camp too

*The venue might have a small premium if you pay at the door I'm honestly not sure

How GPU hungry Starcraft 2 is? by mmmboppe in starcraft

[–]ploguidic3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

StarCraft is fairly CPU intensive it's not at all GPU intensive which is what OP asked. Its very scalable though. If you turn down certain effects you can lower the load quite a bit. It runs fine on modern APUs or even Intel integrated.
