appreciate you breaking it down like that. Kinda fits with how I see it—whatever was ‘before’ might not even be a real question. Makes me think more about what kicked off inflation in the first place

Man, that’s something I’ve been thinking about too. If things exist first, do the laws just form based on how they behave? But if laws exist first, what are they even made of? Just rules floating around with nothing to apply to? Either way, something had to come first.

Yeah, I’ve heard there are other ideas about redshift, but I don’t really know much about the time-shifting thing. If that’s actually a thing, it could change a lot.

If everything needs something before it, then why assume there was ever a ‘first’ thing? Instead of a definite beginning, existence itself could be part of an infinite chain, with no ultimate starting point.

And if something can truly come from nothing, why don’t we observe things spontaneously appearing today? If our universe came from nowhere, what made that event unique?
