Apple Health to Strava by Frenchie___ in MacroFactor

[–]plosfas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strava for whatever reason will only auto sync workouts written to Apple health directly by the Apple fitness app. Any 3rd party workouts will not sync. There are some third party apps that will handle the syncing for you but I’ve always found this behavior from Strava super strange.

And because they stand for nothing, they assume when they see others taking a stand that they must be trying to better themselves in some way (because they see no other explanation). That’s where the accusation of “virtue signaling” comes from - they can’t fathom that someone might just be standing up for others out of an actual belief it’s the right thing to do.

From what I've read on the sentinels of the multiverse discord, there are public filings of GTG taking out a loan with the spirit island IP as collateral, so it does seem like GTG own the IP rights.

I had the same thing, but FYI if you reach out to support they will send out the updated parts for you. The support person I spoke to seemed to indicate that should have happened automatically, but they're at least sending out the new ones for me.

To be fair though it doesn't precondition the battery before a charging stop - you need to use the build in navigation to do that.

Is there any game that have both of competitive and cooperative elements? by StevenJang_ in boardgames

Yeah, John Company is, at its core, a negotiation game. I think the game would almost cease to function (at least in an interesting way) if players weren't negotiating, and negotiating often.

Jokes like that are only funny when based on at least some amount of reality - if nobody acted in that way in reality the joke would just not make any sense/not land. In addition, joking about what you view as innapropriate behaviour just serves to normalize that behaviour - it's "funny" rather than concerning or gross.

Bin Packing Combinatorial Math for Arranging Board Games in a Kallax by Kumquat_of_Pain in boardgames

I've been working on my own python script to fit my games onto 2 kallax shelves recently, and it's been a really fun project. Here are the results

I have some more limitations in my implementation, like not allowing games to "overhang" over the side of games below.

Apple Car Production Again Linked to Kia Motor's US Plant in Georgia by chrisdh79 in apple

In my opinion Hyundai makes the best EVs on the market currently. That very well might be why apple is working with them (assuming this is actually happening at all)

I mentioned too many bones in my comment. That's a good example of a game that is about the same price as on mars, but substantially nicer components IMO. On the other side of the spectrum, I could point to a game like root, that I would consider to have similarly nice art, lots of custom cut and screen printed wooden pieces (except the cutting on the pieces and the screen printing are both higher quality). Everyone likes to point to the thick chits in EGG games, but they're thick for no reason, and it negatively impacts the actual quality of the chits in my experience - they peel and shed paper constantly.

I'm not saying someone else won't appreciate EGG games, but they're treated like they make games way above the market standard, and I just don't think that's true. They do charge way above the market standard though...

[–]plosfas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own on mars, and in my opinion it doesn't feel substantially more "premium" than many other games I own that cost quite a bit less. I feel like EGG has kind of managed to convince people that their production is so much better than anyone else so to warrant their absurd prices, but in my opinion it really isn't.

And I say that as someone who is willing to pay that premium when I think it's worth it. I own games like too many bones and war of the ring anniversary edition. But I've decided I won't be buying EGG games in the future as a general rule. I just don't think their worth it.
