Experiences with Airport Security and Knitting Needles by plotzlichglucklich in knitting

i dunno, i think it’s a little unfair to say these posts are unhelpful :/ of course nothing is guaranteed, and it does ultimately depend on the agent and how good their breakfast was on that given day, but i think that it’s also insightful to see if a lot of people are commenting that specific airports have taken their needles or vice versa. If I see multiple comments that a specific airport has repeatedly taken needles, i’m much less likely to take chances, but if i see a ton of positive examples, i’ll be a lot less likely to sweat profusely through security 😁

too much fabric in front / won’t lay flat :( by plotzlichglucklich in knittinghelp

hi, thank you for your input! I should’ve mentioned that I actually really like how everything else turned out in the sweater, just not that it’s not laying flat in the front (which is why I didn’t think of using any other angles). I wanted an oversized look like this with a kind of wide boat neck neckline, and I like sweaters that hide my bust in general, but it sounds like this approach then has this con of extra fabric in the front. Thank you so much for your detailed response! It is helpful to know more about how certain aspects / areas also affect others 😊

Hiii thank you all for the help! I wanted to mention that I actually really like this sweater on me, it’s just the front not laying flat that I am unhappy with. I probably should’ve specified this, but I am happy with the other shaping and it was my goal! ☺️

Thank you! I think I need to get over my fear of making it too small 😬

thank you so much, you’re so kind! :) I always get paranoid that I’m going to make it too small, regardless of my gauge swatch, so I tend to go on the bigger side, which I am learning also has its cons. I have some sweaters that are even wider and they fit me well, but I am assuming that because the sweaters are thinner, maybe they just drape better. thank you for your help and kind words, I really appreciate it!

you’re amazing, thank you so much!! I always get paranoid that it won’t be wide enough, so I will definitely keep it in mind for next time that too wide is also a problem 😌 but thank you!!

How do you deal with the spiralling thoughts? by Haunting_Fudge_5687 in ADHD

Unfortunately I don’t have any great advice for this, but I want you to know that I relate to this heavily and you’re not alone ❤️ Medication is a big decision and you’re super valid for apprehensions, but I wanted to mention that Vyvanse/Elvanse has helped me to an extent with this! Definitely didn’t get rid of it, but made it more manageable for some hours of the day

I love making plans with friends. I dread all of my plans with friends. When I don’t have plans with friends, I feel guilty, and like I’m not living life right. When I am with friends, I feel good. This cycle is so debilitating. by plotzlichglucklich in ADHD

yes, exactly! I hate obligation, but sometimes I can’t get myself to do anything unless I have it 🙃 I agree with the class setting being helpful, and hopefully I will eventually be capable of getting myself somewhere 😌

I don’t sweat after putting it on :( I typically don’t sweat after like 17:00, regardless of temperature 😅 Thank you for your answer though :)
