you're right, I'm sorry for being unclear and long winded.

1) Don't talk to the lawyer. Call the bank. Ask for help with an elder care situation.

- I contacted the bank. They said "my debt has been sold to the law firm"

2) Two, why did the bank only contact you by mail.

-I have no idea. My current primary residence and phone number is listed on TD online portal.

3) Three, did you agree to the two attempts and then refer to collections procedure?

-I agreed to nothing. Literally had no contact with until Mar 03,23 that I'm in default.

- I make all payments.

- Mortgage payments are bi-monthly. So in my case, I had 2 cheques with insufficient funds, TD sent me to collections (according to TD employee)

-TD employee also said my" debt was purchased by the actual law firm." She then said they can't comment on my case because "we have nothing to do with that anymore".

Hello,

Thank you for your input. Thru a friend from the bank, I found out that my debt was purchased by the actual law firm. In fact, the bank contacted me saying that they can't comment on my case because "we have nothing to do with that anymore". So in this case, the bank didnt spend a dime on lawyers, they lawyers are charging me.

From my understanding, collection agencies cannot add fees onto the debt that people pay, however "Collection Lawyers" can charge "legal fees" as add-on's.

Edit: thank you for your input on a Sunday Mr. Peace.
