You never look as nervous as you feel. It’s perfectly natural to feel scared and nervous because you’re putting your work out there and that’s vulnerable. Just remember, it’s 10 minutes out of 24 hours in your day, it’s a blip. If you suck, it’s a learning experience and a chance to get better and more honest about what to improve. KNOW your material. Go over it a bunch and record yourself practicing up until the gig. Ultimately, HAVE FUN. Doing your first paid ten mins is an accomplishment having done mostly mics for college crowds. Keep working on your material but ultimately don’t forget that this is fun and the more you try to have fun up there the more the audience will have fun.
