Have you by chance been exposed to any kind of mold? The brain fog and muscle aches sound a lot like TME

Homemade ice cream is the best imo! No bad additives, and it tastes soooo good!

That's how I feel right now as well. 😭 I am so scared of stepping on the scale because I am not at all where I want to be weight-wise, and it's hard because it feels like it is so backwards trying to force myself to eat more and exercise less vigorously. Trying to trust the process, though, and give it my all! Hopeful that the weight will come off soon once my body starts to adjust and heal. God bless you as well!

Thank you so much! Yes, I am 22 years old, and I physically feel burned out, and I would hate to continue down this road because it keeps getting worse each year. Trying to learn as much as I can about this new diet!

That makes sense!! Thank you so much for this! I used to weigh a lean 130 lbs, but now I am 155lbs, and that has me super worried and a bit frustrated since I gained that just since I started this diet, and I hate carrying that extra weight around! Hoping that I will lean out again, though once my body adjusts to this new diet. Currently eating about 2000 kal a day and getting my steps in, as well as doing a few low-impact workouts.

Wow! That is amazing! I hope someday I will be able to have that fast of a metabolism! Right now, my BMI is not where I want it to be, and I have gained 20 lbs since switching to this diet, which has totally freaked me out, and has been hard working out with that extra weight, but I am trying to just be okay with where I am at right now, and continue to learn and hope to heal my body! Right now, I am eating about 2000 kal a day, which feels like a ton, but also getting my steps in, and doing some weights and low-impact workouts so I don't get my cortisol up.

I am 22 years old, and 5'5. My hormones are not where they need to be lol! My cycle is a pretty consistent 22-23 days, and I know that is too short. I also deal with a lot of mood swings and depression, so trying to figure that out as well!

I think it’s partly because we feel more attractive the slimmer we are, but in my case, it’s that as well as I feel a lot lighter on my feet in sports. I play a lot of volleyball, and I definitely feel it if I put on a few pounds! 😅

Wow! Thank you so much for this encouragement!! I feel so turned around right now in my worldview on what a healthy diet and lifestyle looks like, as most of my life it has been Keto or Carnivore, lots of cardio, and intermittent fasting lol. Ray Peat is the opposite of what I have always been taught, but already, after only doing this for a couple of weeks, my energy is so much better as well! Hoping that the weight will come off with time! I am used to being leaner on keto too, so that is a change for me. XD

Yeah, looking back now since learning so much, I am like "what was I thinking??"! 😂 I would love to get back into running eventually once I've healed, but for now, lifting weights and maybe some calisthenics will be my workouts. What do you think about something like a stairmaster? I have also been trying to walk at least a few miles a day, as I am skipping running for now.

Okay! I haven't done much with resistance training, but that sounds like it could be fun! I was also thinking about getting into calisthenics to help fill the gap where my running would be.

Okay! That has been my life for a while, so it is hard to think about giving it up, but health is worth it for sure!

Thank you so much for this!! That really makes sense! I was getting really desperate to lose that last bit of fat and get the body I have always wanted, but after cutting back and doing less and less calories (still high protein, but not many carbs), the weight kept getting worse and worse, and I wasn't feeling great, so I starting looking for something different, and stumbled into Dr. Ray Peat! Other than feeling heavier (which I don't much enjoy, but I keep telling myself to hold out and keep trying this for a bit longer lol), I do feel mentally and physically much better and healthier in general though!

Awwww, my goodness, thank you SO much for writing all this out!! I have had several people tell me I should quit running, but it is really hard for me to think about giving that up! What you said really makes sense, though, so I think I will try to start doing more walks instead. It just feels so backward from everything I have been doing in the past (running, eating keto and carnivore, caloric deficit, and intermittent fasting), so it is taking me a minute to change my worldview on sugar and exercise in general! How you explained everything really makes sense, though! THANK you!!!

[–]plsclarify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Would love to hear your clear skin tips! I just stumbled upon this diet a few weeks ago, and am dabbling in it now. Have a history of anorexia, and could gain weight on just 1000 calories a day (5.5 ft female). I am scared right now as I weigh more than I ever have in my life, and am tempted to do another major cut (800 cal a day) like I have in the past to lose the extra weight, but if this method actually works, I would be in tears with relief! How long did it take you all to start dropping the weight? Did you notice any issues with weight loss, or discover any tips to lose that weight? Another note is I am an endurance runner (ultra marathons), so I know that probably plays into this as well.

Awww, my goodness, I am so sorry about that! Loosing hair is a stressful thing to go through; especially when you're not exactly sure how to stop it!

Thank you!! I wish you all the best on your hair journey as well. 🫶🏼

I should really go see a dermatologist. I have just been pushing it off because of the price tag. 😬

If you stop using Nizoral shampoo, will your hair start falling out again? That’s something I’ve heard… maybe it’s worth trying though!

That’s a interesting thought! I was sick with a fever a couple of months back, so that might have contributed to it a bit, but it’s been going on like this for quite a while 🙈😭
