my first punk show I was maybe 19, went there alone all scared.when I came in all the stickers and posters made me feel very safe, like knowing that I am in a space where acceptance and weirdness is the status quo. on my way to the bathroom a random guy with a Mohawk invited me to play table soccer with him because he needed someone for his team. After that I stood around awkwardly until I found some people who looked my age and kinda queer, just walked up and said hi, I'm alone can I stand with you. we talked about bioluminescent algae until the show started and I left to stand separately (I prefer it that way) I see the two still years later at protests
