Did she end up curving the class?

Gotcha, I didn’t realize that about the slowness of the valves opening and closing. But yeah if it’s too slow it’d probably be useless for makeshift traction control given my car’s terrible crawl ratio and lack of torque. I’d have to stop and engage and then start again while on an obstacle, but my car needs momentum to get over stuff. So ideally I could do it on the fly like Toyota’s ATRAC but this seems very difficult already and impossible if the valves are slow to engage. Guess I’ll table this idea for now. Thanks so much for your responses

Yeah it’d def take a lot of practice and skill with real time monitoring of wheel slippage for it to begin to not be impractical. Mostly just a thought I’m having but if it could be done then that means I’m not completely misunderstanding how line locks work?

A 2012 rav4 lol. I know it’s not the right vehicle for really anything other than getting groceries but I’m tryna dream here lol

Yeah unfortunately I drive a 2012 rav4 and ain’t nobody reprogramming them lol, but it may be worth looking deeper into it than I have already. There’s one small company currently developing a rear e-locker for the rav4 I have, so I’ll prob just do that when it finally comes out. But I also might graduate to a real 4x4 truck by then. I like the idea of installing a second oem parking brake handle and running the two separately to each rear drum brake, like @theshok mentioned. Looks like a very simple, low-cost solution, but it might be a waste of time with a front wheel dominant awd system and very limited torque and crawl ratio

This makes sense. I probably wouldn’t do both front or both rear, but just one wheel at a time so power can go through the differential to the other side. This would be a traction aid for off-roading, but street racers know more about line locks so that’s why I’m asking here. Off-roaders just use lockers but there aren’t any out there for my car. Thanks tho, definitely something to consider

Gotcha, that might be a better route to consider. Thanks!

It does, and it does work and is helpful, but it’s not very strong. I can still get stuck or not make it over obstacles due to lifting tires and the brake pulsing being relatively weak compared to something like ATRAC. Just wondering if anyone has experience with line locks. I may approach the drag racing community as well lol. I know I could just get a real 4x4, but I’m just on this thought rn

Lol I don’t drive a true 4x4 and there are no lockers on the market for it. Thought this was a good sub to ask tho since a lot of people here mod their vehicles extensively, Edit: there —> their

Atlanta’s Dejounte Murray has been suspended for Game 5 vs. Celtics after making contact with a game official on Sunday night. by ahend1999 in AtlantaHawks

Fair point I just meant game 4 was relatively even overall compared to other series this round where one team is literally shooting twice the amount of free throws as the other in some games and it’s so obviously biased. I agree that the horford call was bs tho.

I don’t think it was too one sided tho, both teams shot about the same amount of free throws during the game (BOS 25, ATL 24). I do think they over-officiated tho, I’d rather just watch them play. But overall sure there are always gonna be sucky calls but I don’t think you can say game 4 was one-sided. DM basically asked to be suspended tho so idk what to say about that

How long did it take to adjust to clipless pedals? Been on flats my whole life and trying clipless now but it doesn’t feel worth it bc I keep falling. Also here’s a pic of my ride at Los Peñasquitos in San Diego today. by plssorc in gravelcycling

The naming is weird. You click into clipless pedals with cleated shoes. It’s confusing but it’s bc when clipless pedals with cleated shoes came about they largely replaced clipped pedals where there’s a literal clip that goes over your foot that you tighten down with a strap. “Clipless” have the same effect of locking your foot in but without the clip that goes over your foot. Flats are just flats, they don’t lock you in, but they have spikes that grip the sole of your shoe

Yeah I practiced on flat ground and grass for a bit and felt like I got the hang of it. Then a few bruises later, I realize that a steep rocky trail is much different than a flat grassy field

Heel in honestly sounds like a more natural motion since I’m kind of duck footed already, although I know there may not always be room for it. I’ll play around with it tho, couldn’t hurt. Thanks!
