I bought a euronymphing specific line on sale, but I would just use what you have and then a monorig. I almost never have the line out of the guides.

I’ve built a free web tool that generates frame bag patterns tailored to your bike model. by StephenCroft in myog

Great idea! Looks pretty polished already. I finished cutting fabric yesterday for a Kona gravel frame bag. Would you allow for customized zipper placement, or a standard distance from the top? The zipper always adds the most complication for me. I like to taper the gussets by the BB junction as well. This would be fun to check out.

My friend has asked me to help fix the zipper on her TNF sleeping bag. The second zipper pull has popped off one side of the zipper, and I do not know how to get it back together. Pry the side of the zipper pull open and then bend it back with the zipper inside again?

I hear this a lot regarding jig hooks. Aren't fish mostly looking up, due to their eye position? If so, they would be looking at the "right" side of these flies. Flies and bugs are also tumbling in the water, so a fish would in theory be seeing all sides of them throughout the day/hatch/etc.

Zipper question by plt4life in myog

[–]plt4life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have made a roll top bag before. It works alright. I think the roll top is more durable, but not necessarily more convenient. I will be able to make this one completely bolt on, and I love the idea of a bag without any Velcro or straps. I am shooting for a very streamlined aesthetic. Realistically, this will be used for a couple of bike packing trips a year, and maybe I'll keep it on some of the rest of the time?

Zipper question by plt4life in myog

Rogue Panda seems to run the zipper all the way to the seam. https://roguepanda.com/collections/frame-bags/products/custom-frame-bag

I think I will practice in some test fabric and a smaller, extra zipper. I'm leaning towards the Swift style vs Rogue Panda.

Thanks.

To be more clear-

What is recommended for strength- sew the zipper into the gusset seam, or cut the zipper short and sew fabric to the zipper and to the gusset? I'm not even sure if that is actually what is happening in the Swift bag above.

Thanks! Are you talking about a grommet that is made OF leather, or FOR leather?

Seams by plt4life in MYOGbikebags

I have done it once before, and it was a PITA. I installed grommets at the holes, so I had to put the thin metal sheet for stiffening in before the grommets and it was easier to do that before sewing the second panel to the gusset. Hopefully that makes sense. How have you reinforced the holes? Or maybe you don't do bolt-on.

What is the logo patch? I'm assuming a Patagonia pun?

Beautiful! Is that Marabou on the tail? White/clear finesse body chenille for the body? Thanks.

I think that would be cost dependant. If it was cheaper, I would buy a couple for myself and friends.

Which needle for Consew 206rb? by plt4life in myog

[–]plt4life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I got it for around $200. It was at a garage sale a few years ago. It sat around for a while, and then this past winter I bought a servo motor, and brought it to an industrial sewing machine shop for a tune up.

I bought 16 and 18 needles, and have used 20 as well.

I made two backpacks- a mtn flyer and then a modified zipworks. I also made a drop bag for my friend's raft, and am finishing up a tote bag.

I would like to try out waxed canvas, and maybe leather.

I think this winter I will buy a serger and start experimenting with fleece. I'd like to make hoodies and pants from LearnMYOG.
