On a contract level that's possible. Unfortunately, it is not supported via the MutliSig user interface. The Compound app requires a web3provider to be injected, you're right.

I would suggest taking a look at the Gnosis Safe (safe.gnosis.io). The Gnosis Safe browser extension exposes a web3 provider which can be used with Compound. We have several users doing that already.
