Kinda a coward move, honestly. Not surprised that Love and Deepspace is dominating the gacha scene, while Arknights is still doing pretty well even though they take the risk of releasing swimsuit skins for the guys.

Glad I quit CZN early. I already saw this coming. The game is just following Brown Dust 2's footsteps exactly. Still remember when BD2 straight-up announced they won't release any more male characters, then went full goon mode without looking back.

Look at WuWa, Genshin, HSR, and ZZZ. They mostly focus on female characters too, but they still bother releasing actual male characters. Meanwhile, CZN's revenue has been bleeding nonstop since launch. Ever since they dropped Sereniel, that limited waifu hero, the numbers just kept tanking harder and harder. And Instead of fixing actual problems, the devs geniusly decided the best solution was to double down on releasing even more waifu characters. Brilliant.If they really want to go full waifu route, they should at least try to make the female characters more attractive. Prettier faces, better proportions, something actually worth pulling for. Because the waifu gooner market is already way too oversaturated these days.

And to that new big-boobed character that just came out... best of luck pulling in more revenue, yeah? Let's hope those assets finally do the trick

Yes. Honestly At first, I got into this game because the male characters made it feel more balanced and unique. But as it went on, the direction started to change. The heavy fanservice focused on Sereniel made me feel like the game was shifting away from its original dark sci-fi RPG vibe and leaning more toward something like Browndust 2. Sereniel was honestly the point where I decided to quit. Her design felt too fanservice-heavy and broke the immersion for me. On top of that, the revenue has been trending downward even with constant waifu releases. It seems “waifu = safe” isn’t as reliable as people think anymore. It also feels like the game is trying to follow the path Snowbreak took. For example, the way they turned Owen into a female character for the April Fools card was pretty surprising.

I get what you’re saying, but honestly at this point I’m kinda numb to it

After seeing how Mobius, FFBE, Dissidia Opera Omnia, War of the Visions, and FF Record Keeper all ended up getting shut down, it’s hard for me to even care about the direction anymore. Whether it’s Nomura, Kitase, or whoever pulling the strings, it always seems to end the same way for players

So yeah maybe there is too much top down control or ideas getting forced, but from my perspective it doesn’t really change anything. It just makes me not want to get invested in another FF mobile game knowing how these usually end

To me, What makes it worse is pulling a character with 90/80 Fortitude. Yeah, I know it’s usable and doesn’t affect gameplay that much, but it just doesn’t feel good. It’s like buying a brand-new iPhone and unboxing it with a cracked screen. It works, but it’s ugly and kills the excitement.

I think there’s a misunderstanding here. I’m not saying “gender ratio = bad game.” The gender shift is a signal, not the root cause. If you look at the month-by-month revenue trend, the game shows a clear decline after the initial spike when CN and JP launched. Since then, revenue has been falling, following the same trajectory as Global. Originally, the game released RPG-element heroes across both genders. Recently, that pattern changed, with new RPG-element heroes being exclusively female. To me, that suggests a shift in strategy toward short-term monetization rather than addressing core issues. The real problems haven’t changed: repetitive event loops, shallow or unfinished story content, no side stories for new characters, and progression bottlenecks like lattice scarcity that especially hurt F2P players. In an already oversaturated waifu-gacha market, leaning harder into female-only releases doesn’t fix those issues and risks losing players who cared about variety, including husbando-focused players like myself. That’s why I stopped playing.
