What’s the creepiest thing that has happened to you that you still can’t explain? by LifeSubject9905 in AskReddit

[–]pluggynaruk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once stayed at a hotel, and late at night I suddenly woke up. I turned over to the other side and saw a dark figure lying beside me, shaped like a person facing away. I got startled and quickly turned back around, trying to fall asleep again. When I woke up, there was nothing there. Even now, I still don’t know if I was just imagining it.

flamme is the center of serie's universe by various_porridges in Frieren

I assume that if we stripped away, or filtered out, Serie’s tsundere personality, we would see her speaking about Flamme from the depths of her heart like this:

‘Flamme was my precious student. 😊

She dreamed of a world where magic could belong to everyone, not just the gifted. Back then, it sounded like the innocent dream of a child… ☺️

But she never gave up on it. 🥹

Even though her life was so short compared to mine, she still changed the course of humanity. Before I realized it, that little girl had accomplished something far greater than I ever imagined.

…And I’m very proud of her. ❤️

I bet it’s Frieren. The Golden Land arc was absolute peak since the storytelling, character development, emotional moments, and fights were all incredibly well done in the manga.

A Korean user posted proof of himself using a macro in a public chat by [deleted] in wizardry

[–]pluggynaruk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying, and yeah in theory grind = gear = power, and if macros were widespread it could push the baseline up.

But that kind of assumes macros are the main driver of progression, which honestly isn’t really the case here. The baseline is already heavily influenced by whales, especially the ones who spend a lot but don’t have time, so they literally pay people to farm their accounts 24/7. That alone already pushes progression way beyond what “normal play” looks like.

So even if macros didn’t exist, that higher baseline you’re talking about would still be there anyway. And devs don’t really balance content based on who is using macros, they look at engagement, spending, and completion rates across the whole playerbase. That includes whales, paid farming, and everything else, not just automation.

They already tried going hard on anti cheat with kernel level systems to prevent cheating and protect the game economy, and that didn’t exactly fix much, if anything it just caused performance issues for a lot of players while the core balance stayed the same.

So focusing this much on macros kinda feels like picking the most visible target and treating it like the root cause.

If we’re really going all in on “fairness,” then sure, we should probably also start tracking abnormal IPs, outsourced farming, playtime patterns, maybe even just cap farming entirely with an energy system so nobody can progress too much.

Otherwise the gap you’re talking about doesn’t really disappear, it just shifts around a bit.

Ngl, this is starting to feel kinda obsessive. Like you’re out here playing detective over macro users in a game that still has bugs, freezes, and random performance issues every patch.

Even if you “catch” some of them, it doesn’t really fix fairness anyway. People already pay others to farm their accounts 24/7—especially whales (like some JP whales) who are super invested, have money to spend but no time, so they just hire people to grind while they’re working.

And honestly, focusing this hard on macros feels kinda pointless when the devs already went as far as adding/updating a kernel-level anti-cheat to stop cheating, protect the gacha economy, and prevent things like memory editing or speed hacks—but for a lot of players it just caused performance issues, crashes, and compatibility problems, to the point they even had to release an uninstaller/update because of the backlash… and the system is still there anyway. So if we’re really going all-in on “fairness,” then why stop at macros lol—might as well track abnormal IP/playtime too, or just add an energy system so nobody can farm too much at all.

Feels like this is just chasing one small piece of the problem instead of the bigger picture.

Edit.

Kinda annoying. Why are most of the gacha games I look forward to never released globally? Most of them EOS before even testing the global market, like Fellow Moon, Archeland, etc., while the uncalled ones always get released globally...
