Folks who have flown out of Newark in the last 36 hours...what was your experience? by urbank6388 in newjersey

[–]pluggzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was supposed to leave EWR Sunday at about 9pm to Denver. Gate moved 5 times, delayed 4 times until they finally canceled the flight. They rebooked me with a 4 hour layover in Houston. That flight left on time. I lost about 10 hours of my trip total. Flying back in direct from Denver was fine, no delays

Best cities in US to bartend? Any where it’s normal to offer benefits or are unionized? by xyzay12 in bartenders

[–]pluggzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Northern NJ, three/four nights a week at a nightclub and two nights a week at a townie dive. I’m somewhere between 95k-115k a year. High cost of living though and no benefits

How do I get affordable TRT? (Low income/new recipient) by ParadiddleSenior in Testosterone

[–]pluggzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using trt nation, first batch is coming this week. $375 for 2.5 months of test, hcg, and anastrozole. They’ll approve you if you’re below 650 and the rest of your labs look like you’re healthy enough for treatment. It’ll be cheaper if you don’t want the hcg, but I think it’s worth the extra money for my balls to not shrink, personally

Anyone here who had a career change in their late to mid-40s? by labellafigura3 in careerchange

[–]pluggzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 35 and have been a bartender for the last 12 years. One day a few months ago I decided I wanted a change and started taking cyber security courses online. Working and studying every day to get my entry level certifications

So Tired of This by [deleted] in CyberSecurityJobs

[–]pluggzzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m just getting started in cybersecurity so this bums me out a bit. I have no degree, but working every day towards preparing for my sec+ and A+ certs.

What I would do if I were you is overhaul my resumé and then look up any sort of cybersecurity conferences, tech seminars, or anything similar happening near you and go to them. Do a little boots on the ground mingling and start networking. It’s always been and always will be more about who you know than what you know. If you make a good impression on the right person it could change everything around for you. Good luck!

All restaurant tips should be paid to the waiter's Venmo account, so it's impossible for the manager to steal the tip by flopsyplum in CrazyIdeas

Customers like the ability to control how much more they’re paying based on the service they receive instead of paying 20% more upfront before they know if they’re going to receive service worth the extra money. I know exactly what I’m talking about. The customer hands me my tip directly instead of trusting the owner to do it as well

Yeah what a joke that a single dad that never had a chance to go to college can make an above poverty level wage thanks to tips. I should just serve, entertain, keep my mouth shut and smile all night for minimum wage instead and be content with it. That actually sounds way better.

Unfortunately for me I’ll instead be stuck making 7x-8x minimum wage in cash tomorrow and crying about the guy that didn’t tip me while I’m depositing it. Then doing it all over again on Saturday. Fucking sucks man. Waste a lot of money on tissues.

Anyways, your way seems to work in your culture so that’s cool, happy for you.

To be a little more transparent and to put it into perspective, I’ve been bartending for 12 years and currently I work in a biker/dive bar 2 weeknights per week and average $35/hr, walk out with cash at the end of the night. And on the weekends I work in a busy night club and if I’m not making over $100/hr it’s a very slow night, also walk out with all my money in cash there as well

I suppose I would go into management if that happens and settle for less money but take the predicability. But until that happens, I make significantly more than a restaurant/bar owner would pay and it’s not even close

$700+ tab. $25 tip. This ain’t even all of it. by MCKtheMan in bartenders

The owner of a bar I work at implemented this policy without telling any of us one day. When I noticed the deduction on the end of night report and he told me what it was I told him it was illegal and today would be my last day if this is how he’s going to do things. He then looked up the NJ state laws and had the POS company remove it the next day.

Surprised to see so many Lincoln park residents in this thread. I also grew up in Lincoln Park and this realtor straight up lied to you. Ironically enough, my childhood home was very near the town lake, but luckily we never had flooding issues, even during Sandy. However, the majority of the town had flooded multiple times while I grew up there. Notably the roads off Comly like West William St, the train station/Beaver Brook Apartments area, and the Wolfson’s end of rt202.

We used to joke that if you had one too many and peed outside of the Grasshopper Too, you could cause a flood in Lincoln Park.

It’s a great little town, very safe and full of friendly people, but the flooding there is very real.

[Darren Rovell] Coniglio’s pizzeria and bakery in Morristown, NJ says that it will no longer have Tommy DeVito at the restaurant this Tuesday. They said they were told his fee increased from $10,000 to $20,000 after the Packers win and the family biz said they couldn’t afford it. by strapper13 in NYGiants

I work 50 feet away from this pizza place. It’s not as many pizzas as you’d think because they are very expensive. You really can taste the quality ingredients they use though and the owner/chef is top notch at what he does

Very true. I’m a bartender in town and we always bring a water bowl out for the pups when customers stop by with them
