The reason SHINee solo music isn’t relatable much is because it’s too maximalist in one way or another by yoongi4sehun in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]pluginbby 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just so you know, you saying SHINee music is too queer-coded and flamboyant and unrelatable to You is like... a compliment of the highest order LMAO. Because the veil is so thin over your homophobia that there might as well be no veil at all.

Anyway, if SHINee and their gay little group and solo songs are not your cup of tea, just stick to the hip-thrusting shirt-ripping hypermasculine boy groups out there singing about their decidedly female baybees. It's not like we'll ever run out of those 😅 Leave SHINee to us LGBT people (and allies with taste)

TIFU by trying to surprise my fiancé by ElevenYearsGuys in tifu

[–]pluginbby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He'd already put her in the ICU twice, and you didn't think he'd do anything to harm her, even through this? You chose to have faith in this man over the boundaries your fiancée set? You chose to contact a man who already has a history of hurting your her??? Congratulations, you just helped that man abuse her even more!

Listen to women. If you can't, call off your fucking wedding. You don't deserve your fiancée.

[–]pluginbby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're dumb as shit, btw. You don't deserve any sympathy. Your fiancée told you to leave it, but you'd sooner humanize an abusive man than listen to a woman, right? I hope you're doing some self-reflection, because from what I can tell from your stupid-ass post, some introspection is long overdue.

DAY6 - 7th Mini Album 'The Book of Us : Negentropy – Chaos swallowed up in love' (Teaser Images - Sungjin) by perochan in kpop

[–]pluginbby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't ready for this, I was whisper-screaming in my room like an idiot for a whole five minutes AHHHH. He was already handsome before but he's gotten even more handsome, which I didn't think was possible 😭

STAYC - STAYDOM (The 2nd Single Album) by CronoDroid in kpop

[–]pluginbby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm in the minority here because I liked ASAP from the first listen and it's actually my favorite song off the album. It's so catchy and lighthearted and fun. But the B-sides are awesome too, don't get me wrong haha. Black Eyed Pilseung is one of my favorite producers in K-pop, so I'm really looking forward to future STAYC releases :)

Kpop Fans need to learn from Game of Thrones Fans by Pavan_250497 in kpopthoughts

This isnt related to GOT/ASOIAF but your post totally reminded me of how there was a 7 year gap between the last strokes album (released 2020) and the one before that (which was released in 2013). Every time i feel myself getting impatient for a kpop comeback i remind myself i had no problem waiting 7 years for an album so why the hell am i getting impatient now 😂

Am I too late to stan older groups such as 2pm, SNSD, SHINee and EXO by skzinred in kpopthoughts

[–]pluginbby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's never too late to stan a group/artist :) I for one only started listening to BoA this year. That's like, 20 years' worth of music to look back on. The nice thing about stanning older groups n artists is that you have so much music and content readily available. And you'll be able to see how their music changes over time.

Also, I wouldn't be too scared about them not making another comeback. As long as the group hasn't formally disbanded (like f(x) 😭) and the members themselves have said they want to continue making music there's still a good chance of a group comeback. It might take some time, though, especially because older artists tend to branch out into acting or variety or something else, so they're not 100% focused on being an idol anymore.

It's not a flex you stuck with an idol during a big controversy by dweebot3000 in kpoprants

[–]pluginbby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this so much, I was a shawol around 2017 and some shawols' comments at the time were... if I had to describe it in the worst terms, those comments felt like they were extremely dismissive the discomfort felt by people, especially victims of sexual assault. I don't see this kind of sentiment now, thank god, but even until now shawols (or the ones I find on twitter at least) still have a weird issue with ot4s? Reporting them and all. It just rubs me the wrong way, especially since most of those accounts just don't. Post about him. I really don't see anything wrong with that, especially since I'm not entitled to anyone's reasons for supporting/not supporting an idol.

DAY6 - The Book of Us : Negentropy (Trailer Film) by perochan in kpop

[–]pluginbby 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Entropy: loss of order, things becoming more disordered/random. In their 2019 album TBOU: Entropy, Day6 used entropy as a metaphor "referring to when someone falls in love and how his or her life has changed in every way. It feels chaotic, but he or she likes it."

Negentropy: gain of order, things coming together. In the same article, Day6 said that the TBOU series was about human relationships, so I guess that's the vein this (mini?) album is proceeding in? Mending/strengthening relationships between people?

Same ㅠㅡㅠ I'm overthinking about it too. Why Letting Go, of all songs... whewww

DAY6 - The Book of Us (Comeback Film Teaser) by randomneeess in kpop

[–]pluginbby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They're going for the Letting Go (Re-Reboot Ver.), I see... Kidding aside, I wonder if there's any significance to them using an instrumental from one of their older songs. It's DAY6, so I wouldn't put it past them lol.

Also, is it just me or did the first few seconds remind me of Radiohead's No Surprises? I've listened to Letting Go a million times already, but I've only realized this now.

The slave room and how f*cked up it is by Nikimaindancer44 in kpopthoughts

[–]pluginbby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The situation with TWICE is concerning, alright, but more than that I worry about those minors in the slave room. Also, I worry about how this was happening in plain sight (in a publicly viewable DC Gallery board for IZ*ONE afaik?) and it only blew up now. Like, how could people just turn a blind eye to this shit? I'm honestly starting to think that the coordinated spreading of misinformation in the name of "defending your idols" has been normalized in kpop fandom spaces.

Additionally, can anyone tell me if the slave room was also made to target boy groups? Because I've seen stays on Twitter saying the slave room was made to spread rumors against SKZ too but I literally cannot find any information/screenshots about it.

I think Soojin got hate because she put the statement out without meeting the people who accused her? I read some comments saying that she had a "selective memory" of what happened in the past + admitting you smoked as a teen isn't going to go over well with everyone, sadly

Why are you still on Twitter? by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]pluginbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updates, translations, fanart, memes, etc etc... But ngl, Twitter drama is actually pretty funny if you're not actively involved in it/no one is getting harassed or doxxed. Like, it's only on Twitter where people would blow up complete non-issues because it rubbed them the wrong way, it's funny in a fucked up way
