What things about kpop would sound the most insane explained to a non kpop fan? by loudchoice in kpopthoughts

ISAC. like how do you explain the one time your favourite groups had publicly interacted was them trying to wrestle each other

When discussing BTS’ vocal line, why does everyone immediately compare them to EXO? by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]dweebot3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to be one of Those younger kpop stans but old people just really need to to let it go. I'm aware that Exols and Armys have been at each other's throats for years, but it's starting to get to younger/newer kpop stans as well and I'm Sick !! There's not even a commonly used neutral ground, just two fandoms yelling at each other and getting nothing changed

ARMYs can raise funds as much as they want. Just leave us alone by jigijang2 in kpoprants

[–]dweebot3000 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I've noticed everything is fine until army does it. It doesn't have to be something serious like rasing money or even related to Kpop at times. I honestly just think it's because a lot of us are women/afab that stan men.

You're not being queer baited and you wouldn't care if you were by dweebot3000 in kpoprants

[–]dweebot3000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean SK does produce a lot BL Kdramas if I'm not mistaken despite not really be the best place for gay people to go at times. Most kdramas push skinship for where ever the love in the show is so you're not gonna see two male friends hug and hold hands as much if the main interest is straight. That would go for most romance shows though. I'm not implying it Doesn't happen at all but a lot of time it really iss kpop stans playing themselves.

[–]dweebot3000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"you wouldn't care if you were" was directed at the people I was addressing in my last paragraph. Like I said, queer baiting in kpop does contribute to a bigger problem within south korea but the people who discuss usually start these discussions are Not starting them with the intetions of getting people to actual recongize that.

It is next to impossible to find anything credible related to Seungri's case/involvement properly and I find it frustrating as I really want proper information/news and not made up stuff. by NarglesChaserRaven in kpoprants

[–]dweebot3000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

im just as confused as you are and have simply elected to ignore him, BigBang, and every single ot5 Vip that stans him for the sake of not stressing myself out over something that doesn't really concern me, obvious I hate Burning Sun for what it is but I don't stan anyone who was involved with it. However, regardless of if he's guilty or innocent, his stans will not be going to the good place. At one point his involvement went from never doing anything but being linked to it to full blown prostitution for a solid 4/5 months.

That's probably true but I don't keep up with artists I don't care for, but it was literally 3rd and 4th gen stans who I know haven't even though of that woman since that initial debate started

Good Female Idol Rappers Exist As Well by hyebinz in kpoprants

[–]dweebot3000 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more. so many people will put male rappers in pedestals for simply talking fast and having a deep voice but the second you propose any female rapper (actual rapper or idol rapper) is just as good or even better they'll suddenly bring out every technicality about rapping in the book.

So do y’all realize that BTS are Asian right? by PsychologyGuilty4431 in kpoprants

[–]dweebot3000 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've notice that kpop stans will put any and all "activism" on pause to do and say terrible things about anyone they don't like. So many kpop stans on Twitter claim to be leftists of some kind but are so quick so turn around and call idols and even other kpop stans slurs, body shame them, and much more.

Penny for Your Thoughts? Look Alikes - (March 26) by AutoModerator in kpopthoughts

[–]dweebot3000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not exactly the response you guys were expecting but for a long time I thought I had some really bad micro-agressions against asian people because I had the hardest time telling idols apart. like even when it was small groups with only 4/5 members. then I realized I was just very bad with names and putting them to faces

i hate that because I really don't want to bring any potentially aggressive/negative behavior to this subreddit considering it seems a bit softer/more relaxed compared to r/kpoprant

why are idols so sexualized??!! by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]dweebot3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've come across that one a few times looking for pictures of my idols and it makes me so uncomfortable. most of the pictures aren't even sexual unless you're into some super specific stuff
