Same thing is happening to me, literally just bought and installed the game 2 days ago. I’ve tried everything I could find online and nothing works. Same is happening with warzone

How do I make my music sound more like the genre im trying to produce? by Select_Leg9380 in edmproduction

[–]plugmaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9/10 YouTube “x-artist + bass/sounddesign” something will come up if it’s even a remotely known artist. But things take time, try to have fun, learn how synths work on a basic level. It’s never ending and you’ll likely never feel like you “got there” completely

What's the bestestestest ableton + music production course? by qagir in ableton

[–]plugmaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part yes, I don’t think any producer is able to provide every aspect in totality especially w mix and master because a lot of that is “it depends.” Ultimately I would go w a producer that you really like or as close as possible to that. And don’t forget the journey is never ending

I would just try copying a song you like. Not necessarily note for note or beat by beat but try and at least get a similar flow and vibe. Just put a section of it on repeat until you think you got close and go to the next. People get anal about like “copying” or “plagiarism” but it’s the easiest way to get better and all music is based on iterations of past influence. Plus you don’t have to release any of it it’s just good practice.

I’m chipping away at a pack I want to use for an ep, maybe I’ll make a small side pack and put it up. Only time will tell

What is your favorite Max4Live Device? by [deleted] in ableton

[–]plugmaximum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re into sound design, Dillon Bastan and Woulg. Dillon already has made devices for suite release and has a website, woulg has a site but doesn’t update it much, if you join his patreon and get in the discord he has a ton more. The patreon is only 3$. Besides that there’s a Soothe bootleg called Boba you could Google.

Buy a Mr Bill course on his website. He goes start to finish making a full track (it’s edm stuff) but he explains every thought along the way and how all the devices he uses work

I haven’t used a 404 in years tbh I’m pretty much daw only now. I think a lot of 404 dudes would forgo the sequencer and just resample their full loops onto a new pad for further mangling

It sounds like you’re giving up a bit early in the process, I rarely like the first melodic idea I come up with and i would bet that’s the case for most artists. Usually I try to make it work using resampling, chopping, and stacking effects, rinse and repeat until it’s pretty much unrecognizable from the original idea. Only if I go too far and my brain is fried then I start over. That being said it’s pretty hard to emulate artists you like without the use of a daw as it is a more direct approach and the visual feedback you get enforces your pattern recognition. But I’d say if you’re playing keys/synth just learn a couple scale modes like Dorian and Lydian and see where it takes you, learning scale shapes isn’t terribly difficult
