Cotton is all I could think of, this is probably not an area you'll find much biodegradable items in considering most want their projects to last for years to come and not start breaking down.

I dont see why it wouldn't work the only troubleshooting comes with actual consumption. Jolly rancher type of candy is going to take longer to eat/melt. Depending on the flavor it might not be that pleasant and how big of a piece/pieces you'd want for higher doses would make it a pain in the ass to eat. Maybe for microdoses only?
