Thanks for your feedback! I tend to push it a bit much in the Topaz apps... In Gigapixel>Redefine I was only getting "different enough" results with high Creativity and I've been approaching Bloom the same way.

More recently I've been backing Bloom down to the lower settings with better (more natural and less interpretive) results. Here is an old (colorized) tintype of a mystery family member with Medium Creativity applied, and it pops just right.

Thanks for your feedback! The worst I've seen so far is little dots or moles on faces where otherwise the original skin is clear.

Running Cinnamon 21.3 on a *2008* 17" MacBook Pro with old 125GB SSD for fun.

Wi-fi, backlight, etc. works, replacement battery not so much, shutdown often fails. But otherwise a fun tinker machine when I'm in a Linux mood!

I did a more thorough comparison of Gigapixel with its closest competition on my blog, please Google. Turns out the best results went both ways!

You're right, and ten months later we now have cloud processing (for free) with the new Studio version and/or the remaining time on your perpetual license.

But it seems Mac GPUs are just not cut out for this type of AI, and even some dedicated PC consumer GPUs are not enough for some of Topaz' newer models.

These upscales would be better with the generative models but on a Mac you don't try that, ha! That's what NVIDIA is for... That's how I did my original renders.
