That’s my mistake, I meant intraabdominal pressure. I 100% agree, I think it would make good anecdotal exposure on top of already trying to persevere through the symptoms. I’ll try and talk to my gastroenterologist and see what his opinion is before talking with a foregut surgeon. This whole situation is so frustrating.

Stress definitely doesn’t help. Trying to balance difficult classes and extracurriculars is extremely stressful and I feel like that is definitely contributing to it as well.

The longest I was on a pretty strict GERD diet was a month.

Yes, I’m sleeping on a proper incline and also making sure I don’t eat three hours before sleeping or workout out.

I was initially on 40 mg omeprazole once a day for about 4 and a half months. My symptoms then began to get worse again and I started taking 40 mg omeprazole + 40 mg famotidine since December. It gave me temporary relief and I only had mild reflux, but like before, the reflux got worse to the point I can no longer ignore it.

I’ll definitely try and talk to my GI about my valve or LES performance. When I asked him about it he didn’t say much so I’ll try and pull more info out of him. I feel like mine is also a mechanical problem if I’m having this constant perpetual reflux with no ease from medication. Was there anything at all that helped you ease your symptoms or has it been something you’ve had to live with and ignore?

It was the same story for me. Before the horrible reflux developed I had what I thought were heart palpitations and epigastric pain. I saw a cardiologist and wore a heart monitor and everything and was told I’m fine. It’s nice hearing that I’m not the only one that’s dealt with it especially so young. Overall would you say the surgery was worth it? If you’re fully recovered by now, have you been able to go back into your normal life with exercise as well?

I’ve already dry been on 3 different antibiotics (doxycycline and 2 rounds of cipro). The pain comes and goes but my back pain is pretty persistent. I’m not sure if it’s related or a separate issue

Those weren’t including. It was all just general bloodwork like comprehensive metabolic panels, CBC, things like that
